can't say i've ever known anyone to commit suicide. Must be horrible knowing someone who has done that

 

friend of wifes 9 year old son hung himself at home. Those basic details are dreadful enough but some of the other details bring me to tears even 20 years later.

 

A friend of my wife's did. Back when she used to go to church she had a gay friend who came from a really conservative family... Like ultra fundamentalist xian.

I guess being ultra conservative and gay conflicted with himself... He jumped off a bridge into a river. What's sad is he broke his back hitting the water but it didn't kill him. He was probably alive for sometime afterwards struggling to keep above water before drowning.

Don't like to talk bad about the dead, but can't say I ever liked him, was a very rude and narcassistic person... But nobody deserves to die like that and especially considering he probably lived a very sad and depressed life before that point too makes it more tragic.

 

2 year but can come out after 1. It depends if she gets reconciled with her boyfriend. She defo won't do more than 2.

She should dump the guy and enjoy life in Dubai. At least she has seen his true colours. What chance has she got of a good career if he is whinging away wanting her to "stay local".

sounds like a disaster. I don't think Long term relationships have ever worked if its for more than a few months.

Can't say, i blame the lad too much. Imagine having to **** away your best days (unless he's cheating which is even worse).

Unfortunately, sounds like you have to choose one or the other but i'm surprised your daughters not ditched him for some rich sheikh

 

I agree, tbh. Unless it's a long-term and well established relationship then extended separation will always bring insecurity.
Nobody is in the wrong here, I can see both sides of the argument.

 

It's very messy. She really thought he was 'the one'. She was too overwrought and jetlagged on Saturday to have a measured conversation. The time will come. She'll get all the support I can provide. Her mother will provide a different form of support, but support, nonetheless.

No, not really. She's playing a tactical long game. He bit last night, so we'll see where it goes. She was a lot calmer and clear-headed last night. She's going back to Dubai until Christmas and then jacking. She's saved £4,500 so far.
