After todays report on the news, you cant afford to be a day late living in Teesside kidda? You get far fewer than the rest of us.
After months and months of speculation that he'd be arriving at the club, it's finally been sorted so that Le Havre midfielder El Hadji Ba will sign for Sunderland on a free (sort of) transfer on July 1st. The central midfielder, who has been rated as one of Le Havre's most promising players in recent years becomes a free agent following the conclusion of the French Ligue 2 season, although the club will have to pay a small sum for his services as a way of compensation based upon his age. That figure is reported to be in the region of 400,000 Euros. The French Under-20 international only featured 12 times last season, netting one goal from a holding central position, and is likely to continue his development on the fringes of the first team and in the Sunderland Development Team. The move has been in the pipeline for a number of months now, with the player already becoming somewhat of a fans favourite already on Twitter, where he's regularly active and interactive with Sunderland fans. As for how long it will take him to feature in the team, that's uncertain. However with Ba's arrival it only serves to push the likes of David Vaughan closer to the exit door.
To be honest there's so many players with that surname I don't know who he his. Ba is nearly as common as Smith these days.
Sounds like he is one for the future and not a first team player reading the echo report. Having never seen any of these players kick a ball and the volume of them I'm not sure what to make of it all. Players with contract disputes etc. will they be doing the same to us, do they have any loyalty? Are we a stepping stone or a pay day? Without hearing what Paolo has to say about each player it is difficult to know the plans for each player. Also the transfer window is eon it's early stages. Is this it, is this phase one? Still it has been very interesting this far.
Bung him in the development squad, check out his ability and attitude and check back on him end of the season.
Don't know mate, He talks about the move here but there's nothing on the official site. I'm puzzled. http://www.rokerreport.com/2013/7/1/4482228/el-hadji-ba-talks-about-move-to-sunderland
