So am watching arguably the two best teams on the planet with the best players in the world, managed by the best managers in world football in the latest spanish derby. The battle is definitely on between these two rivals, and am just wondering if any rival match in the premier league matches the El clasico or even better than it. I persoanlly think the Tyne -wear and Liverpool v Manchester Utd derby is worth mentioning ,but would like others opinion. Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur (North London Derby) Aston Villa vs Birmingham City (West Midland derby) Everton vs Liverpool (Mersey side derby) Liverpool vs Manchester United (The reds Rivalry) Manchester City vs Manchester United (Manchester derby) Arsenal V Chelsea (London DErby) Newcastle V sunderland (Tyne -Wear derby) Wolverhampton vs West Brom (Black country derby) Fulham V Chelsea (West London Derby) Blackburn V Burnley (East Lancarshire derby) Wigan V Bolton rivalry. Discuss which derby in EPL comes close or even surpasses the el classico.
The Spanish league packs the best players in the world who are technically better than most players in other leagues..Just thinking whether the premier league is the most passionate league in the world.
In terms of players/big names probably only the Manchester Derby, rooney, silva, toure, aguero, tevez etc etc and fergy
The North London Derby ALWAYS provides excitement, controversy and, most importantly, great football. For these reasons, it is the best derby in the premier league.
This, also el Classico has been rubbish the last few years, players seem to spend as much time diving and trying to get each other booked then actually playing football. Barcelona are a joke team you can talk bout their football as much as you like but if things don’t go their way they resort to the most underhanded tactics to win.
Do agree, but doesnt that show how nervous both teams were and the lenght they will go to stop thier opponent. Something you cant take away from any El classico match is the controversies- referees, penalty claims, sending offs, diving etc, and thats what makes it interesting IMO. The unpredicatability of the outcome when Barca plays Real madrid makes the tie standout from any other rival match.
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Sanchez was the worst offender for me. For someone with such ability his attitude was appalling. Really left a sour taste in my mouth and I couldn't give a **** who won out of those two as I don't regard them as part of La Ligue! On a plus side, Ronaldo was dire all match which was hugely entertaining!
You mentioned Sanchez as the worst offender..You will feel sick and hate football when you see Dani Alves or Busquet dive when struck by nothing. Diving seems to be the new norm among the barca players now and am starting to accept Mourinhos claims about Refs protecting them. We all know how much UEFA love barca, so they can get away with anything even when they put football to shame.
He dived as much as the other two (twats) that you mentioned. He pips them because of the amount of times he chased the ref waving imaginary cards. Presumably he wanted said players booked and wasn't trying to send the referee off himself... Vile behaviour and I thought punishable by a booking. Hey ho.
