and there goes all the saturday 3pm games so many 12.30 just **** off sky and thats just the first half of the season
At some point it must call into question the value of the 3pm blackout. If there are barely any lower league games at that time then what are we even protecting any more? Just non-league I suppose. And would televised EFL games particularly affect attendances at non-league level? Maybe the blackout should only apply to PL games?
I think once we all see the obliteration of the traditional Saturday 15.00 hrs kick offs by sky I reckon our decades old Saturday rituals will be gone for good .Football has sold its soul to telly and the supporters are not even part of the considerations. Sky tv want the 15.00 hrs blackout scrapped and this is part of their campaign to get it .
The blackout just needs to go, it serves no purpose just makes sure everyones weekends are messed up. It would most probably see more people watching football not less
Think this may well be true, and should be considered in any conversation about changing the blackout. It's probably not a simple issue.
They've just announced Rovers away game at Saints has been moved from Friday 23rd August to Saturday 24th August. City are at home that day against Millwall but some people I know won't be able to do City and Rovers now, they just don't give a **** about the fans.
Can’t stand 1230 kick offs, but for home game I very selfishly prefer Friday Nights (I’d happily scrap them all due to how **** it is for travelling fans, but apart from that I like them)
First thirteen league home games this season: Three - Saturday 12:30 One - Sunday 13:00 One - Sunday 15:00 One - Tuesday 19:45 Two - Wednesday 19:45 One - Wednesday 17:30 (New Year’s Day) One - Friday 20:00 and Three - Saturday 15:00 Horseshit.
If we're being fair, we can take out the mid week games as they have always been there and it's nothing new.... The Sunday/Saturday non 3pm games are **** though!
Yep, three out of ten Saturday fixtures are actually happening 3pm Saturday. They’ve moved four of our eight Saturday away fixtures. So 70% of home fixtures moved but only 50% of away fixtures. I reckon Prutton loves rocking up to the KCOM!
I remember when a Friday night game was a rarity. Came over from Leeds for one at beginning of 1969/1970 season against Blackpool. Bought a scarf that night and wore it all over for years. Put it in a drawer and told the wife not to move it as if City ever got to Wembley I was taking it. Needless to say in 2008 I was half way to London before I remembered I had forgotten to bring it along.
