We should keep a list and then present it to the Press Complaints Commission at the end of August.
So far many players have been linked with us, some even have City on red alert (this means that a player is available to a lot of clubs but we need to have a special alarm button which is, presumably, red - this will be installed at Malky's bedside next week by Nathan Blake).
So players so far in the local rag rumour mill of complete specualtion and mischief making are:

Tom Ince, Gary O'Neil, Salomon Kalou, Joe Ledley, Adam Matthews, Aaron Ramsey, Oussama Assaidi, Leon Barnett, Marvyn Sordell, Danny Graham, ......

Please add to the list if you have read in Walesonline or the local rag of any other names thrown in to print for no particular reason.

Albert Adomah, Carlton Cole <yikes>, Matt Phillips, Jonathan Williams (very unlikely)

To be honest, Tom Ince is about the only one to float my boat although I would be happy with Barnett as a squad player.

Ramsay, Ince, O' Neil, Matt Phillips - I think these would be welcome aditions to the squad although I think defenders should be the priority.

Thanks for those -- and Bafetimbi Gomis, Joseph Yobo, and now .... Mike Williamson

I will keep updating the Eggo / Wales on line list and post it as even more spectacular groundless speculation continues. It will be interesting to look at this media compiled trash on August 31 st - when our 25 man squad is finalised. Perhaps a few more people will be persuaded to get their football news from the sports pages of The Martian Herald - which is probably based more on the planet Earth than the local rag.

He's a footballer who doesn't play for Newcastle united.

Ok ... and let's add Peter Odemwingie. Keep them coming. To be fair the Eggo ar enow staring to admit they are recycling other people's rumours. So that's OK then.

I like odemwingie as a player but he's a prick and he could join our big list of small strikers.

I'd forgotten Mike Williamson existed. Some of the players we're being linked to are very worrying. If they're going to make **** up they could at least make exciting **** up, more like 15mill Baby Drogba!

Don't understand the hostility to the WM/Echo/WOL...I actually like reading the rumours (and by the way the articles always stress they are only 'rumours'). Look at any newspaper at this time of year (local or national), (tabloid or broadsheet) or any other type of news outlet (BBC/Sky for example) and they are all rife with this type of speculation - can't see the point of reporting them all to the press complaints commision.

Just my opinion btw.....you say 'local rag', I say National newspaper.....you say potato...

I just think gossip should be confined to women's coffee mornings and not reported as, in any form, news.

I agree with whiffletree - It's not like there's anything else to read (football wise).

Fair enough - I just find such pathetic made up stories annoying. You can give this thread a miss, and I'll go on compiling my list with those who are interested.

The problem with.these rags u talk about Whiffle is that they use cardiff city 2sell papers......even tho they have dishonesty fitted people up with printing.pictures of.so.called hooligans making u guilty even before u get a so.called.fair trial..........I was banned.for.life after the Swansea seated throwing episode because some.**** took a.picture of.me on the pitch.........little did they know I only got on the field because the Canton stand was blocked by police horses..............not only me tho in the trial some could.prove they used old photos as.evidence from years back, little did they know that some had been abroad on hols when the game took place.....so all.in.all I've no respect for.rag lies for.a.reason...............maybe one day they will.employ decent.journalists 2get some factual stories together.........more like.the.Sun lol.

Agree with most of what you say Aber......but my point is that the WM/Echo are there for the same reason as other newspapers etc. and are no better/worse than any of them...its just they affect us more than others because they concentrate on local matters.........still enjoy the speculation/ rumours etc. that are everywhere at this time of year

Update - must add Wanyama and Tom Ince to the eggo sponsored list. In the morning we were attempting to sign Wanayma, by the evening we were outbid by Saints, if you believe what you read.
