Well last Friday I finally went to my first ever game of Rugby. FC v Salford City Reds! Well I'll apologise first to all of you who follow both sports. It was fooking rubbish, pass five times, kick it into corner, repeat.

As a spectacle sport it just went back and forth, back and forth! No passion, well apart from two dozen from Salford who've been watching Ackrington Stanley Ultras and sang a rendition of anarchy.

Only good thing from the entire occasion was the pitch looked absolutely superb, well until those clowns churned it upside down!

This arguement of it not being the game of Rugby churning the pitch up, I still stand against that and say thats a load of rubbish. Shed load of 15 to 20 stone plus men rolling all over it has no affect on the pitch? Yea right... I dont mind watching Rubgy on TV but when ive got to watch one live I couldnt get any more bored of it.

Don't follow the rugby much but can't stand union, half the time they seem to be kicking the ball off the pitch.

Rugby League is a fantastic sport. I can't be arsed to go watch it, but I'll watch on Sky. It's quick, intense and dramatic. Massive levels of strength and skill involved too. It's not a patch on watching City but it's still great.

I remember when we won the egg-chasing World Cup, seemed to be just me laughing at the funny man making the shapes with his arms before booting the ball over the crossbar, at least Rugby League you can kind of make out whats happening.

Anyone who wants to see who churns up the pitch, have a look at it in August after its had no football for 3 months and rugby on it for 6, and then again in February when the opposite applies and look at the difference.

There is nothing wrong with the pitch at the KC, it's just the winter weather that means it churns up, neither sports digs it particularly.

I'd rather watch local schools egg and spoon races for two days straight than ever watch a full rugby game :)

I know what you mean man! Those races are so exciting it's so unbelievable! The determination on the competitors faces, the passion of it, the skill needed to balance the egg and the anguish of the egg cracking all make it a thrilling watch!
