Really asking for some trouble here but I think Egan's recent performances have been much poorer than we have come to expect. From what I've read he was at fault for the goal tonight and made no attempt to get back for the 3rd goal on Saturday. Now since Loft has returned, without the armband Egan seems to have lost his way slightly and bearing in mind that he's started pretty much every game for the last 2 seasons when he's been fit, is it time to give him a rest and pursue with Oshilaja & Lennon for the time being?
PegLeg, If you look at the whose nailed on thread I made reference to the CB's, I would also change the keeper (who I think has lost control of the defence and his area) and a certain senior member of the midfield. JE did promise changes after Saturday, I guess he must have forgotten.
I think we're very lucky in the fact that we have 5 very talented young Centre Backs at the club at the moment, and for Egan to know that his place isn't safe in the team, may just spur him onto to up his perfomances if JED decides to give him a rest. I'm probably going to get even less people agree with me now, but I was extremely excited to see Callum Davies on the bench on Saturday, and I would love for him to be involved in the team again to shoe what he can actually do. Maybe in a back 3 of Oshilaja, Davies and Lennon he could thrive. Maybe I'm just being a dreamer though. In some people's eyes I probably need to be burned at the stake just to contemplate dropping Egan but he's certainly more liable to our recent losses than a particular striker brb keeps picking on .
don't know who you mean Gills PegLeg ....did he score again last night oh silly me asking such a question....where's alwaysright when i need him to help me out with deliverance to a striker
Dont forget egan has been our best player since he was signed and is out of contract in the summer. Maybe contract could be problem. We have to keep him.
