was listening to the last parts of the game, ROVERS 3-0 UP, and the commentators were on about the crowds /lack of them mostly, but with just 2 or 3 exceptions. I just looked at the BBC headline it said" Man city u 23 knocked out" I thought TGFT ….. as apparently fans up and down the country were boycotting games as they were prem and this was a division 1 or lower compo. hopefully this scenario will not last, maybe they should if they needed to pad it out do so only with championship u 23's
As I tend to disagree with you on a fair few topics JGF I felt obliged to come in and post when I do actually agree . It's a disgrace to be honest. I can see why they want to do it (the top teams) but it devalues the lower leagues, as if they hadn't already been enough. I'm all for taking the piss out of Rovers, but I won't take the piss out of their low attendances in the Football League Trophy. It's an absolute joke.
I’ve always said that the EFL /JPT whatever it’s called should be for the L1 and 2 clubs only. Bristol Rovers are far more entitled to compete in it than a Premiership ‘B’ team. What next? ‘B’ teams in the league? I’m surprised that the sponsors stand for it tbh - it devalues their sponsorship.
