So we are up against a promotion team from last season. But not looking good only having won, one game since promotion. We on the other hand have lost the last two league games, conceding 5 goals without reply, after an amazing start and two amazing results against prem teams in the EFL.
Not sure what to expect, but I do have the chance to watch the whole match tonight.
Are we a championship side playing above our means or a Div 2 good side, that will make the cut, but have to sit out the bad results? I feel we have an amazing group of players, just need to get to grips with each other, I really thought we have a group of players to get promotion with a record club point record.
Lets see if we can do the same in cup games as in the league

I suppose I should be grateful for a win.................................

................. even if it was with the help of a penalty, and an own goal after two opponent players had been sent off.

I was unimpressed with much from The Gills. - and don't be fooled by Harris saying it was the B team - the line -up was anything but!...I think people need to rein in their expectations....We are in L2 for a reason!...We have players who are in L2 - for a reason!... The other 23 teams, and sets of fans will think similarly to us.....At the moment, what have we got ( or how they are deployed ), which might set us apart - and is it enough enough to suggest we deserve to be in the top 3, 7, or even top half?
If you analyse the league form so far, I reckon that we robbed Stockport.. Sutton deserved a draw.. Crawley was daylight robbery.... Colchester and Grimsby was plain crap.....in some of the Accrington game we did look reasonable - and managed to score one ......are you 'wowed' yet ? And we haven't faced some of the 'better' teams in the league................

....so - be grateful for small mercies - we might not get too many (( unless we can play v 9 every game. ))

Just watched the whole of the first half back, I thought Morris was considerably unlucky for the ball to come back off the post, to only then hit his back and just roll into the goal to put Orient one up just before the break - for anyone that has not seen it, it was like watching a repeat of Jordan Pickfords own goal against Sheffield United - this was after he (Morris) had previously made several excellent saves during the half.

Jonny Williams (8) appears to be the engine room in the middle, often tying up with Mahoney (23) who looked as if he could make things happen. I'm not convinced with Bonne in the first half (45) but is that because we are not getting it to him. Jayden Clark (17) made a couple of attempts towards the oppositions goal, but despite us working hard, nothing ever seemed to come to fruit worthy of note.

HT: 0-1 As I say a lucky goal, but on the balance of attempts on target, rather than overall possession, Orient probably deserved it, but very harsh on Morris.

Second half Orient have lost the plot, two men sent off. <laugh> I also will say that when Ogie was taking a throw in before the red cards, were their subs walking in front of him!?

Bonne making a nuisance of himself in this second half and it's cost the O's one of the two men. Not sure what the other incident was about, but it was the lino that flagged it, not our player.

FT: 2-1 Well deserved win in the end, despite it being against nine men. I thought Mahoney was MOM for me, it was him that also drew the own goal. Probably Jonny Williams 2nd, and Morris 3rd. I also like the contribution of J Clarke and Alexander. Bonne improved second half until he was subbed.

I agree, we were poor. Even against 9 men it took a penalty and an own goal. How many balls played into the box fell straight into the arms of the keeper.

According to @gioblues it 'was a nothing game,' and 'Harris will never play his strongest team in that competition.'

    So everything is good yeah?
