This is just an article to recognise a recent act by Man City stiker, Edin Dzeko. It seems all we hear of footballers these days is them getting into fights, sexual harrassment cases and tweeting huffily but the good stories rarely reach the surface of the media pond. 17-year old Alan Maslo from Sarajevo suffers from a severe disease, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, to get treatment for this in Germany he needs 50,000 euros so he appeared on a Bosnian TV show Hrabri Ljudi (Brave People). From that people started raising money for his cause. When Dzeko heard of this he decided to donate the full amount so he could get his treatment. Top fella! Hopefully this makes the British tabloids ahead of some of the less savoury goings on of footballers.
I wasn't forgetting anything, it's not always the value that matters but the gesture and whether he could afford it not, he chose to help this kid out when he could have spent it on a personalised numberplate or whatever. Deserves recognition.
