Torquay will be a walk in the park for Gills, or will it? I like to think that we should be unbeatable and sweep all before us aside but is that realistic. A lot of fans are critical of the teams recent results, believing we are better than this team or that team, believing that we only need turn up to win. Imagine if you can being neutral. Looking at Gillingham 3 most recent away games:- Dons 3 â 1 Gills Hereford 1 â 6 Gills Southend 1 â 0 Gills Looking at Torquay 3 most recent home games:- Torquay 2 â 2 Cheltenham Torquay 3 â 3 Rotherham Torquay 1 â 1 Morecambe So Torquay have taken points from 3 of the top sides in league 2 whilst Gillingham have managed just 1 win against relegation fodder. If your a betting man the odds should be heavily in favour of a home win, evens a draw, outside away win. Having now convinced everyone that we stand no chance I'm going for 2 â 1 too Gills, I won't however be reaching for the razor if it goes wrong, I won't consider the season is finished if we don't win, I won't be calling for mass sackings if we fail to score, I won't pretend I suddenly know more than the manager because I got promoted on a play station game. Remember the old saying:- âIt's not life or death, it's more important than thatâ
If I was putting a bet on this, I would be going for an away win. The only mistake we can make is to under estimate Torquay.
if we had put away our chances the last couple of results could tell a very different story. so if we take the chances we create then torquay could well get done over like hereford, however we have porved consistantly that we are liable to switch off or make a mistake at some point during the game which atm always leads to the other team scoring so we will need to take atleadt 2 chances to stand a chance of coming out with a win. who know, maybe some of the enforced changes will have a positive affect
