I just had a peep on Skybet and see that Eastleigh are favourites for the title at 3/1.

Will any of you have a flutter?

Personally I don't take too much serious notice of pre-season odds at the lower levels. At the start of 2008-9, the season after playing at Anfield, Havant & Waterlooville were pre-seson favourites at the bookies, but ended up finishing in the bottom half!

How do you reckon the Spitfires will fare this term?

I go watch Eastleigh a fair bit and play for their college side, as I live in Chandlers Ford, it's only a short walk or drive away. They have some good players for that level and was disappointed to see them fail in the play-offs last season. Scannell has played in the football league, as has Odubade who they signed earlier in the transfer window. Craig McAllister is a player similar to Lambert and Holt. Very good at holding the ball up and playing it out wide and is a threat in the box. My favourite player Jai Reason outscored McAllister last season and I feel will have a better this coming one, he is also a striker but can do a job out wide.

However Eastleigh have the smallest capacity in the league (I think!) which they will need to improve on if they did go up. They have good owners and I really want to see them do well next season.

Jake - How's Jack Dovey getting on? I thought he was a real prospect when he was at Saints, better than Gazza, but it seems like he can't even get in Eastleigh's first team at the moment.

Not sure if Eastleigh will get promoted but Farnborough are going to be relegated methinks.

If they aren't liquidated before the season starts *sob*

The new South Coast derby begins next season I guess, with Portsmouth v Eastleigh.

I always thought Jack was going to be a decent keeper and was surprised when he moved to Eastleigh but I can understand why. He is prone to making the odd mistake which can change games. He seemed to lose his confidence a bit and never really played to his true potential. Flitney came in the sticks in the latter part of last season and I'm sure will be number one in the 2013/14 season.

Thanks. I guess he's still young in goalkeeping terms. Cut out the mistakes and he could still have a professional career.
