How many points are acceptable for the two games over Easter? Iain Liddle from Twitter and London24 fame suggests 2 points would be OK? I feel he is under estimating the Sheffield Clubs and just two points would give them both a big boost.

If we drop out of the auto's then I can see us falling at the first hurdle in the play-offs and the season will be seen, by many, as a disaster. In my opinion we must get 3/4 points over Easter otherwise the confidence of the players will plummet like a stone and we could be playing Hartlepool needing a win just for 2nd.

    Thoughts?

    <cheers>

Can we mathematically be promoted after these 2 games if results go our way?

2 points would not be OK. 4 points good,, 6 points amazing. Anything less and I think the gap between us and Sheffield will get smaller.

Don't think we can be promoted, but if results go our way we'll be all but certain needing like 3 points from the last 4 games I think...

    Think of it this way.

If we average 2 points per game, the lowest we can finish is 2nd on goal difference. So 4 would do me fine.

Where is the option for 3 points?

Not saying I want to use it though. I'm going for 6.

I voted for minimum 4, but as we're playing a struggling Oldham (3 defeats in a row) away followed by an ordinary Walsall team at home, we really ought to be going for 2 wins, especially as the following game (away at Carlisle) will be a tough one.

3 points so i voted for 2 being a pessimistic bleeder by nature.
4 games left with a 5 point gap (believe Sheff U will draw 1 of their 2) - cant be bad - COYR !!!!
we will win last 3 games anyway, so no probs !!!!!

Despite Oldhams poor form at home, I can't see us beating them. They're the type of team who always seem to hold us to a draw. My guess is that they will grab an early lead (probably a long shot or something) then just sit behind the ball all game, time-waste and hack our players to shreds.

Voted for four points but would really like to be proved the enternal pessimist rather than the optimist I believe is guiding my hand.

I know I must have proven to be that optimist since I have been a Charlton supporter for a very long time but the pessimist in me tells me that I must have enjoyed it somewhere along the line so be prepared for more.

    Four points.

Never at our best against Oldham and we really must blot Kuqi out - I know he's coming up to drawing his pension, but IMO he remains one of the best target men in this league.

i'd like to think we can win our home games and then it'll be comfortable. and, wednesday are playing huddersfield away so i'll be keeping an eye on that one. if hudds do us a favour and we pick up one or three points its jobs a goodan as far as i'm concerned. will leave us 9 or 11 points clear of third with 5 games to go, 3 at home.

    I hate this thread.

Killer is spot on, need to go for the 2 wins and get set for carlisle, accepting 1 from that tie.
