I appreciate we have pretty substantial squad, and when the games come close together we have to rely on NA to get it right, however I just noticed that where we play on the 7th (Pompey home) and 9th (Palace away) West Ham play their games on the 6th and 9th, one additional day of rest and Reading play on the 6th and 10th 2 additional days rest.

Is this bad planning on our part? Or the curse of the fixture computer?

And more importantly will it be a problem for us/advantage for our rivals?

Its definitely a major advantage, especially if the weather is hot around then...lets hope Pompy don't try to kick us out of the match and injure our players!

But dont we then get an extra days rest for the Reading game on 13th, with Reading playing on 10th

This argument always makes me laugh, they're 20/30-somethings, fit as a fiddle, train for hours most days and people winge about them being tired!! You can pretty much guarantee that the only days rest they will get will be the day after each game. Then they're back training, practising for the next game.

I'm also a big fan of basketball and due to contract problems in the NBA in America at the end of last season, they've had to play a shortened season but tried to fit as many games as possible in, they're having to play back-to-back-to-back games, i.e., games three days on the trot. They normally play 3 or 4 games per week.

But yes, as you say SaintDylan, we have a substantial squad, as long as we don't get too many injuries or suspensions I think we'll be fine! COYR!!
