Did any one see this just now? They said, and I quote:

"After Ireland's disastrous European Championship campaign, Green now faces the prospect of playing for Leeds for two years".

    Hilarious!

I cant get any worse for Green now

Played for Derby, cant get in ahead of a shockingly bad Keith Andrews and now signs for Leeds

Well the only way is up

    Really?

He'd get into our side no problem.

Did you watch him during the Euros. He was absolutely shocking. I know he was playing against people like Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas, Silva, Modric, Iniesta and Pirlo but he just looked a millions miles off. He had numerous chances he should of buried and missed them. Even Roy Keane was ripping into him and the others.

I just dont rate him that much

    True.

But you have to say, who far that team covered themselves in any glory?

He held his own just fine in the PL for West Brom and did really well for Ipswich in this league (got 1 goal every two games, not bad for a defensive midfielder). He fits our style of ply and i'd be really happy if we snapped him up.

Well we're after box-to-box midfielders IMO.

    Andrews fits that bill.

We already have box to box midfielders in King, Drinkwater and James. We need someone who is going to sit in and protect the back 4. Reading had it in Leigertwood, Southampton had Schneiderlin and West Ham had Nolan doing that job.

We dont really have anyone capable of doing it.

**** I'd take Andrews, I think you'd be silly not to. Just because he struggled in a very poor team against world class opposition doesn't mean he can't do a job in the championship. I reckon he'd get into your team easily enough and would compliment most in this league

They are all hard-working players though which is what we need, all of them with leadership qualities as well.

Its not always about mega names though which obviously Leicester haven't realised yet

<laugh> I dont really care whether I convice you or not, I doubt you would have minded having Pearce in your team but if I were you I'd be considerably more worried about your own team. And I do see that Leicester still believe unless you spend 1mil+ on a player, that player isn't good enough huh? Despite your efforts last season

We are making positive moves which ever way you look at it, each of those areas we have added in were quite weak last season

What do you mean "even Roy Keane"? That brainless, failed-manager criminal will rip into anyone if it suits his ends to look like the hard man in the room, and especially suits his recent divergence into punditry, where there's a growing demand for opinionated (read: needlessly cynical) commentators.

Keith Andrews isn't a Premier League or European Championship standard player, but he's a good player at second tier level and, in reality, a good one with a touch of class for a country the size and scope of Ireland to have on their books.

And Gangsta, I don't see how the original quote is derogatory, it's just a journalist stating the truth?

<laugh> I don't need to justify why they are solid signings to you. Green is the only one I'm struggling with only because I dont know much about him but I'd take Pearce over any CBs you guys have (not that St. Ledger or Morgan wouldn't compliment him well mind you).

Jason Pearce wouldnt get in our team. We are getting rid of better players then him. He isnt as good as Morgan or St. Ledger

Keith Andrews is about to sign for Bolton according to the Mirror

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that because there is no possible way of convincing you otherwise. I don't even believe Nigel knows who his 2 best cbs are at the moment

I think he'll do well there if that is the case. It looks like Bolton are going to try the West Ham route back into the prem. I thought they were already financially in the ****, they look like they are trying to sign players left, right and center

I wouldn't mind Andrews tbh - isn't a world beater but is a experienced workhorse that allow others to shine.
