Contrary to those who think this is a bad move, I reckon it could be fantastic - but then I'm an optimist. For a start, not a penny paid, secondly I reckon he'll be happy to take a drop in wages, thirdly he's proven at this level and when he's backed by a managed he performs. When he's backed by the fans. . . well, it's going to be some welcome.
Anyone remember the "England's Number 1" chant aimed at David James after Earnie scored a blinder for us against a certain team in Saaarf East London? That would be a great way to kick off the season and his return to us, with another screamer against the 'ammers!

absolutely worth a punt! I usually try to keep my feet on the ground but the heart is definately winning over the head in this case. He may not be the player he was but he's still got a lot to offer. Time will tell whether thats a full season or not. This is one occasion I don't want to see WoL fall on it's arse.
Worth a punt big time. I think Earnie will be so motivated that he may well play the best football of his career! Seriously, there is not a negative to this at all. I don't think our Watford raiding has been very inspired, but this signing is spot on.
Would be great to see Earnie back in the fold. May never see the same goal return but we will see goals. If it happens, welcome back wee man.
If we make the chances Earnie will score, I'd put him down for 15+ plus quite a few assists. Just hope now that WoL has it right for once.
It's on Sky news on-liner that city are "Closing in" on Earnie. poor thing. Sounds like MM will get him in a corner and threaten to beat him up unless he signs. But even if he is it will do for me. lol
Well it looks a done deal, i really hope there is truth in this, the other encouraging factor is the Bellamy rumours, i still think we will kick of the season with 5 more new players, Earnie, Bellers, gunardson, goodwillie and hopefully a good hard midfielder. August 6th cant come quick enough.
Well he was bigging up MM well before we even approached the 'orns, so he backed the winner and put in his job application ages ago... Surely this just has to happen...?
