There is an early start for the Chairboys to look forward to on Boxing Day, when the Exiles travel to Adams Park for the clubs only second ever meeting, the first an FA Cup 1st round encounter at Loakes Park on 24th November 1973, when the Chairboys beat a Football League team in the famous trophy for 1st time in their history 3-1, before going on to loose by the same score line against the Posh at Lokes Park in the second round. The lads will be in a confident frame of mind after an encouraging 4-1 win against the Cobblers last time out, I'm not expecting changes to the starting line up if Gaz remains true to form of not changing a winning team, but who knows! This will be a tough encounter against a team on a 5 game unbeaten run sitting 7 points and places above us, I'm expecting a good Christmas period for a change a of a game and for that gap to be reduced when I leave Adams Park, around the time I usually arrive at the ground
still cant quite understand the clubs reasoning for the early kick-off, but ah well! thy key for gaz is not to make too many, if any, changes from the team that outplayed Northampton. scowen should return on the bench and maybe knott could come in for Arnold or kretch but id try to leave it as it is - we can get 3 points here and hopefully have a good bit of form for Christmas (for a change!)
Not awake for first 15 even after that they scored a good one deano off just before hamstring McClure on
really poor tbh, we lost out to another poor team settled by one moment of pure quality. we had chances to score but we needed to take these opportunities! strange that it was the same starting 11, the midfield looked so poor. cant really moan about hause, stewert or McCoy and wood was easily man of the match (but given to kuffour weirdly enough). attackingly we were poor, gave the ball away too much in midfield and couldn't really get going
Ainsworth you are becoming as bad as Waddock! I'm sick of excuses so if you can't get the players to play how you want then go before you become a joke. Why woukld i travel from Somerset to watch us lose? Oh well i liked watching Wycombe as a non-league team and it seems we will be part-time again in the conference. Can any of you prove to me that Ainsworth will keep us up?
I think some of the blame today has to be apportioned to the players - gareth started with the same team that was so fantastic against Northampton but you wouldn't be able to tell it! in terms of changes I would also have bought knott on for kretch, as he did, but taking kuffour off was a strange one against Fleetwood I would try to get sam wood back on the wing, drop Arnold for just about anyone and (if it was me) try to put in spring perhaps, we need something else from the midfield ingram hause Doherty/Johnson stewert McCoy wood scowen spring knott PCH (if fit) McClure has to be worth a try! as for gazs position I cant see us sacking him any time soon. I think he will keep us up but not a lot else, and maybe his position needs to be considered in the summer
I'm surprised that Ainsworth is getting stick. I thought he was our saviour. One day you're a legend, the next your job is at risk. What a **** job to have (unless you're Alex Ferguson).
deano out for a month now - leaving us shorter on strikers than we were before! now leaves us with McClure, kuffour, morias and PCH
