Afternoon Gents, Wolves fans here. 3 of us coming down for the game Saturday, arrive into Paddington at just before 9 so able to get into Shepherds Bush within 10-20 minutes of that! From what I can tell Shepherds Bush market would be the best option for us to get off at, is that correct? Looks only a 10 minute walk to the away end. Main thing we could do with finding out is, do any of you know of any pubs around Shepherds Bush that will be opening early (pre 10am) and will accommodate away fans? For London away days we usually make our first stop the Sussex Arms just down the road from Paddington but that won't be open at the time we will be rolling in so thought we might be better off heading closer to the ground. I'd be grateful for any info you could give me, Thanks,
Your best bet for a pub will be The Weatherspoons opposite Shepherds Bush Central Line station, but that is not far from the station you mention. Most pubs are strictly home fans only, with having to show your tickets to the men on the door. Crap policy, but that is down to the local council & The Met. I suspect the Weatherspoons will be open, but I don't know for definite.
The Fuller's pub inside Paddington station is open for "breakfast". Good, but expensive, but if you're only going to have about eight pints, who cares about a few extra quid?
Cheers lads! Think we are going to just have a few around Paddington, then try are luck close to kick off.
The Bull in the Westfield shopping centre opens at 11.00. Expensive and characterless, but it's beer. And 10 minutes walk from the ground. Another crap aspect of early kick offs. The pleasure of the walk from the station/ wherever you have parked to the ground via a couple of hostelries ruined.
