. . . when the **** really starts hitting the fan.

Things have been creaking, groaning & changing oh so slowly at the bottom, of the table, but this midweek could see cataclysmic movements and panic setting in.

We're lucky to have a 'cold hearted assassin' in charge but I can see the some of the 'relegation contenders' starting to flap around like a Bigg Market slapper trying to get back on her feet.

Hull have looked cosy for ages and their fans have been puffing their chests out and droning on with 'look at us, we're 10th and way better than you'. Well, lose at Palace lads and, all of a sudden, they're level on points with you! Then we'll see how much you admire Bruce when the excuses start falling from his lips. We could write the script ourselves.

And stand by for multiple 'we were battered by the better side today and got what we deserved'.

Cardiff & West Ham have cringing away fixtures, in midweek, and Sunderland can leave them 3 points adrift with a home win. The Hammers will be turning on Allardyce like the Mags did.
OGS will be shown up as a panic measure when people realise a cheeky little face isn't quite so appealing when it's looking up from the bottom of the league.

The Fulham manager, who's name sounds like cheap lager, will be as flat & bitter as the supporters if they get done over at relegation rivals Swansea.
If Laudrup presides over a home defeat to such a poor side his position as media love interest may suffer no matter how he grins and brushes his hair.

The 3 musketeers at Stoke, West Brom & Norwich might find it's 'the sack for one & all for the sack' if they keep floundering and, if Palace lose at home to Hull, who are rubbish away, Pulis might disappear up his own tunnel.

TBH, is there anyone you'd rather have than Poyet to get us out of the ****? Looking at the other possible contenders I think we've dodged a hail of bullets.

Decent assessment Smug, I agree with everything. I am more confident than I was after the Villa game that's for sure

IN answer to the longest winded (yet best put) question ever - No! Poyet is the man no matter what - our next 3 games are massive for us with 2 really difficult ones away at the end of Feb! We are very lucky to have been able to make 11 changes on Saturday and still get through in the cup - most around us over the weekend had to play far stronger sides than we did!

I'm hoping for a bounce back from the performance (in front of goal anyhow) on Saturday - hopefully someone will play who will know how to shoot when they get the ball.

We have Stoke at home, Mags away, then Hull at home. All winnable games - but how many other "winnable" games have we had at our place this season where we haven't got what we expected - I'm setting expectations low but hopes high - can see smarmy arse Pardew getting inside the refs head and his dirty bastard of a team kicking people for fun and getting nothing for it again. If Palacios plays on Wednesday he appears to be with Cabaye in the "I can kick people all the time without getting booked" scenario!!

Nice summary smug, and having a good morning chortle at some of the analogies there.

Poyet is the man....and it will be interesting to see who we and others get in this window. one helluva week coming up. Never dull, is it! :D

I'm in a hotel waiting for Wednesday before we go home.
Our lass was still asleep and I didn't want to wake her up putting the telly on!

I still say Laudrup had the team given to him on a plate, it had nothing to do with his brilliant management skills.
Now when it counts he is struggling.

Poyet may just be the man to take us to the next level that we have prayed for for years.
If the worst did happen, which I don't for one second think will happen, he is more than capable of bringing us straight back up.
As it is, if he can get our forwards sorted, I can see us moving quickly up the table and be sitting comfortable come season end.

    He's only had 1 game <yikes>

To answer your question, apart from Mourinho, Wenger, Possibly Man City manager, there's nobody else I thinks better than Gus. Martinez is just ahead of him at the moment but in a couple of years in the Premier league then with that added experience then I might be able to say he's as good as Martinez, if not better.

Wednesday could, just could be the start of a great climb out of the mire we're in.

Or we could be deep, deep, deep in the poo!!

Im more nervous about this wednesday than last!!!

Think we started that climb back in October when we beat Newcastle. We've been picking up points steadily ever since. We're never going to show champions league form and win every game. We were 7 points adrift from 19th place. three points before Feb would be much appreciated though as it's a tough month coming.

A win against Stoke and its a big step towards safety. I have a feeling we will end up with a draw and do this escape the hard way.

Gus is the man for me no matter what but other teams results are pretty meaningless unless we can start to pick up wins at home. Please god let us start well against Stoke and get the first goal........we have to start to click at home sometime, please let it be this week. Once we get out that relegation zone I honestly believe we won't be back but must keep picking up home wins until season end as away games are pretty horrible.

I always said he'd be sacked in his first season, a dreadful appointment.

This year I'm having £50 0n Monk being sacked in his first full season, another dreadful appointment <ok>

Allardyce might be a canny bet for the out mate. Some serious board trouble apparently.

    Can`t find any odds atm.

It'll be tough knowing where to put your money mate, there are so many contenders.

    Allardyce as you say.

    Monk is useless.

Lambert is only there while the club is sold.

    Irvine <laugh>

Dyche will be the media's new 'Holloway' but will struggle.

    Redknapp's health is an issue.

Pulis could be the dark horse though ....... he'll start to think he's bigger & better than Palace.

Monk, got to think he`s out of his depth.

Didn`t know about Redknapps health mind. Obviously his face is melting but..........

Pulis? Don`t know tbh, don`t know what it is but if it`s sink or swim, he always seems to swim.
