Sorry guys, but I've been busy this morning. I'd love to see us come away from Selhurst Park with all 3 points, but this is certainly where I'd happily settle for a share of the spoils. AN's comments from today's EDP - Neil predicts a tense affair. “I think it will be cagey because both teams know what is at stake,” he said. “Palace will play the way they generally do, which is pace at the top end of the pitch and looking to hit on the counter. If we can defend as well as we have recently then I am hoping we have enough quality at the top end to give them problems.”
Nerves are building up again. I think I'd take a 0-0 or 1-1 now. Knowing us, and how football goes: looks a straight up Palace win. At the same time, such a massive, massive opportunity to get 3 wins on the bounce as such a vital time. I'd be really disappointed if we don't play like we have last 3, and didn't knick a win. I'd be gutted if we mess it up today. I have watched us play for long enough and been a football supporter long enough to see this as "on of those games" where the team looking down and out pick up a win against a team flying. I can see 2-0 Palace. Wickham and Gayle. Gotta be. I'd like to see us play: Ruddy Martin(?) Bassong Klose Olsson Redmond Howson O'Neil Brady Naismith Mbokani
Feeling confident then FML. Currently on my way to selhurst. I live in east London and even I think this is looking dodgy.
I don't feel as nervous or stressed as the the last 2 games, and I'm not sure why. Whether it's coz we have7 points from the last 3 banked, or if I'm confident, or if I'm resigned to knowing the typically we'll bottle this. Not sure how I feel about this game. We should be able to take the game to them and do a bit of a smash and grab like WBA game. I just can't see it happening.
Their defence isn't great. If we can hold the defencive strength we've gained recently, the midfield will probably be fairly open. It's going to be scrappy and recently we've looked better at winning scrappy games.
I too have a feeling that Mbokani will get one today. Need Ruddy to have a better game and learn how to kick to team mates rather than row Z
He's done that since he first got here. I think it's because from kick off, we seem to hoof it of the side of the pitch to row z. Every bloody game! Don't know why, but these seem to be the tactics. Even long before AN.
It would be nice to have a shot from a corner. Every time the centre backs come up Brady fails to get a cross past the first man and the opposition counter with our entire team running back into position.
I'm always nervous and hardly ever feel confident lol. Winning this could be bigger than last week, we'll drag another team in while hopefully widening the gap. But I'd be happy if we'll get 4 points from these next 2 games.
Haha! Good save! Yes, 2 brilliant games on the bounce from him, and Sunderland. Is needed. He's an experienced Premiership players, and needs to show the others that. Would be nice to see him score more, but that's not really the role he was given in the team last week. He was kind of like a Hoolahan role, but with much more chasing, tracking back, holding up the ball etc.
Ruddy; Wisdom, Bennett, Klose, Olsson; Jarvis, Howson, O'Neil (c), Brady; Naismith; Mbokani. Bench: Rudd (GK), Bassong, Jerome, Bamford, Hoolahan, Mulumbu, Redmond. No Martin again, presumably he hasn't shaken his knock off. Unchanged I think?
