I would be careful when wielding the axe Tiger - remember how Chris Woods played today and lots of us thought he was ****e. Stern John was another who played ****e for us - but scored over 19 goals for Southampton before coming to us. There are other examples: Haynes is doing rather well for example.

Fonts has had a mare of a season so far and the fans are on his back - but he showed what he is capable of last season with some very good performances.

The new manager will need to study the video nasty's and watch them train before making his mind up who he wants to work with, but whoever stays we still need that elusive Caulker-type to organise our defence.

is it not easier to list the players you'd keep? Of the 29 players listed in City's current squad i'd only keep at most 14 of them which only includes one listed Scottish person.

Tiger - Fontaine, Kilkenny and Pearson are contracted to 2014 (as is Foster) so you can't just make them go however after today, I think that the club has good grounds to sack Fontaine and Gerken who IMO, let those goals in on purpose. A strong case for gross misconduct and if the board have "grown a set" and sacked the manager, these 2 should follow....

As for the rest of out contract at the end of the season (I don't count short term loanees/contracts)

Heaton - I assume he can trigger the option (unless that’s why he was dropped)
    Morris - cheerio
Gerken - after today, I would sack him instantly
Carey(GK) - don’t know enough to comment meaningfully
Fontaine - contracted to 30th June 2014 - again after today, sack this tosser instantly
Nyatanga - thanks but its time to go
Carey - Louis, you are a club legend but its time to hang up the boots mate
Wilson (J) - unfair to tar with the same brush as the rest, will be good in a better defence so yes to new contract
Amadi-Holloway -don’t know enough to comment meaningfully
Skuse - would offer but depends on what new manager wants -
Elliott - thank you for everything Marv but I think its tiime for a new challenge mate
Stead - unstinting effort and good quality player but I think we will opt for youth

The sacking for gross misconduct, if the charges can be proven through video evidence, sound perfect to me but the chances are remote. A statement needs to be made that a total lack of effort for no other reason than vindictiveness deserves severe punishment. Cancellation of their contract would send a clear message to everyone at every club that they are employed to do a job.

If you or I showed that kind of effort in our jobs then we would be fired without compensation no doubt. Steve Lansdown wouldcertainly fire you from his company so why not at Bristol City? There should not be different rules for footballers who are pampered beyond belief and think they are major stars.

Look these are real people - Liam Fontaine has played over 200 games for this club. Yes he is out of form, but it is a bit disrespectful to see some of the more vitriolioc posts about him

Mark Wilson's short term contrac t is up - would not renew
    Matthew Bates - ditto
Stephen McManus loan comes to an end - he is a leader which we desperately need, but was very poor yesterday

Lan I know you are not a Foster fan, and while he is by no means the most talented player at City and in my opinion always puts a shift in.

Tiger's list is pretty comprehensive but I would add Nyatanga on lack of Championship ability and even Carey as I think he is well past his best before date.

Prem has hit the nail on the head.

Want my list! Well here goes

    Mark Wilson
    James Wilson
    Liam Fontaine
    Stephen McManus
    Lewin Nyatanga
    Neil Kilkenny
    Stephen Pearson

Just these for now. We need at least 4 players in this window. 2 CB's RB and a LM maybe another CM but not a priority. The new manager will have to start ringing about the second he takes over

I remember Pearson had a contract to 30/06/2012 and then signed another one year finishing 30/06/2013. Anyone know if this is correct?
As I've said elsewhere I also rate Foster. And also James Wilson. How about playing J Wilson at right back and Foster on right wing until Albert comes back?

Come on, Fontaine has been useless for 2 seasons now and has to go as does Nyatanga.

I would defo add Kilkenny to that list as well as Morris, wouldn't bother with McManus due to wages, apart from that I think a new manager has something to work with here.

Carey to retire at the end of the season as well.
