His reaction to scoring, not just to the bench but to the other players was disgraceful. One thing on his mind, not joy at scoring, not team celebration just a selfish desire to make a point. Football is a team game and the guys done himself no favors. See if he turns his attitude around next time hes on the pitch but for me he could be best player in the world but with that attitude I'd flog him off to the first person willing to pay 1c. Appears to be an arrogant selfish ars*.

He didn't do that when he scored at Stevenage, so what changed in a week?

He was completely wrong in what he did. He should apologise to the manager, the club and fans. But to put it in perspective many players have daft reactions after scoring - they run and taunt opposition fans, take off their shirts knowing they will be booked and so on. If Beppe is sensible he will continue to play it down as he did at the time and no more need be said - however if it happens again then Dyer should be disciplined.

Absolutely. Building on your point about perspective, tensions are probably running high in the squad at the moment as to who will start and when. Clearly he thought he deservd to do so on Tuesday and obviously made his point a little more forcefully than he should have!

Years ago, I recall reading a study on group dynamics (I guess many would be aware of it on here) which stated there's 4 stages that every successsful group has to go through. I think thy were referrd to as forming, storming, norming and performing. I think it's safe to say that our squad is not planning to miss out the "storming stage"! It can be healthy though - I'm sure we'd all be happy for players to be annoyed when they're not picked and to channel that emotion in a positive way on the pitch. Histrionics aside Dyer did that on Tuesday.

aha... my subject area! Yes of course you are right..... and of course BS is Italian and culturally throwing dolls out of prams and having a good shout is part of the territory....

GT was god when it came to making a team better than the sum of its parts....

Let's hope they get through the storming stage.... from what I saw on Tuesday we have some very talented players... and together they could do something in this league this season.

In Dyer's defence I guess after last season with Leicester and turning down Premiership opportunities he thought he would "walk" into our team - how wrong a judgement that was - he did not evaluate our strength in depth - his fault.

For me it was the way he pushed his team-mates aside to get to Beppe to make his point, as Aberdeen said. I found that quite disturbing to watch. Have a go at the manager, perhaps (better to do so off the pitch, but as has been said- heat of the moment etc). But to ignore your team mates after scoring what was a very important goal, I find very hard to forgive.

Dyer out? Absolutely not! Yes, he was wrong in what he did, but he managed to open a whole can of worms that needed opening. If the players aren't happy, it needs addressing. The fact that Beppe screams at them all the way through training is one thing..they don't get it, but they'll have to get used to it, but his alleged management 'style' obviously needs to be questioned when a player like Dyer claims not even to have had a conversation with the head coach. Something isn't right and results are papering over the cracks. That might be a good thing in the short term, but long term it could prove to be a problem.

Dyer isn't a malicious player, if hes happy or not, he rarely shows any emotion, he just wants to play.

He obviously feels something needs addressing, i dont know the situation but im sure hes not going to be happy being left out completely after scoring in the last game.

He aparently left us as you offered him 3 years rather than our 1/2 extension, would you prefer it if he just shut up and just took his paycheque each week?

we have a large squad and each week players will be left out , mr dyer has played well but so has others the problem is the way he did things ,all players should remember its the fans that pay there large wages without fans there is no club . its the owners that pick the manager and then fund his squad . if this squad cant pull together they have no hope of going up this year

I posed it as a question and not a request. I like what I've seen from him as a player and indeed would forgive him for having a dig at the manager. What I can't work with was his apparent (important word that) rejection of his team mates who immediately and naturally wanted to celebrate his goal. That to me indicated something more than just a spat with the manager but a selfishness that actually doesn't work for me in a player however good. There are obviously problems with Mr Sannino but there are equally problems with Mr Dyer. I hope both can be sorted but not holding my breath.

I agree with you Aberdeen seems Dyer was not not even on the bench yesterday, so his temper tantrum didn't do him much good as the Manager had the last word.

    Read this Dyer:

FOOTBALL Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal: "Angel is a world-class midfielder but most importantly he is a team player."

    and...

Di Maria: "I am impressed by the determination everyone has to get this club back to the top – where it belongs."

Comments I have read tonight suggesting that McGugan showed no real interest in playing tonight. He has his moments, but overall I think we have better and he might spend a lot of time on the bench.

Was it Dan that alluded to McGugans poor attitude last season? Swap him for Britt Forrest can have him back.

Totally agree. I'm still waiting for him to grab a game by the scruff if the neck and boss it. However, I don't think he has it in him. Largely anonymous and ineffective.
