He has to be surely? for me he is the most naturally gifted striker we have. Mitro is inconsistent and unreliable. Joselu us simply atrocious. I'd even take Murphy up front or Shola ahead of Joselu right now.
Agreed with all but that in bold, how can you judge a player who hasn't had a run of five games in nearly 2 years? He's consistent for Serbia. Unreliable I'd give you but I don't think he has done much wrong in the last year, inc. the West Ham sending off. I've seen much worse and feel he was banned due to reputation than the actual act itself. No worse than Tarwokski over the weekend or Rooney on Wednesday night but doubt much will happen to either of them. For all my mad Mitro love though, I'd agree Gayle has to be starting currently based on form.
I agree that Gayle is currently our No.1, however I think Mitro has been badly used by Rafa considering he scores regular for Serbia. He is miles better than Joselu but I for one think we should be looking at the likes of Tom Heardman who is improving fast. Other teams play younsters, Hearts even had a 16 year old goalscorer on Sunday against Celtic and some PL teams have also given youth a chance. We are heading for the bottom of the pile in the next 10 days so what have we got to lose. Rafa needs to take his blinkers off before it's too late.
