I've got loads of them, about 400 and they sit in a massive great pile, thinking of getting rid. There are some I'd like to keep though. Do we think the DVD will become obsolette in a few years or is it worth hanging on to them?

They will definitely become obsolete but why worry about it now? Why not just wait till they are obsolete then chuck them? You can always copy them to your hard-drive if they're taking up too much space. A compromise is to chuck out all the boxes and cases the DVDs came in and store them in a DVD wallet.

Considering the floppy disc isn't obsolete... - no.
