Apart from Spartans playing them in a friendly in recent years, I know naff all about Dunston. Care to shed some light as to how they are doing, aspirations and whatnot?

    certainly

play just up the road from the old fed brewery(round corner from dunston park) at the UTS stadium(used to be called Dunston fed)

    billy Irwin - manager
Play in the Northern League Division One
finished 4th last season 6th the year before that, currently 9th i'd say winning the league isn't possible to far behind but have some games in hand so you never know be happy with last seasons finish and a good cup run(semi final against spennymoor in march durham cup (playing Stansted in fa vase and have ryton at home in the league cup on Tuesday stuffed them 5-1 at their place last week in the league so should go through )
just heard today's game has been cancelled-bollocks
don't get to any games these days as i live in Northumberland now but keep threatening to but follow from afar, they signed one of your lads a few weeks ago Liam O'Mahoney
didn't know you were into non league football till i saw your thread to be honest, grew up in Dunston so I've always been a believer of supporting your local team <ok> said i'd support one of the local teams up here when i moved but can't bring myself to do it (feels like cheating on someone <laugh>)

bit more info on there for you (if your interested like <laugh>)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunston_UTS_F.C..

also for reasons which are to long to explain i follow this german 3rd division team
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SC_Preußen_Münster
but since i changed to fire fox have had problems getting on their official site

    tonight's game is on

Tonight sees the visit of bottom of the league Ryton in the northern league cup,at the start of the month we went to their place and came away with a handsome 5-1 win.
So after beating them twice last season and the stuffing earlier this month I'd bet my house on us going through but this is the cup and we all know that anything can happen but to be honest anything but a win would be a major shock and gutting.

was today and we've got whitley bay 5th march 4 days after the Durham cup semi final so the lads won't be fresh but hey that's non league for you confident we can get something but like you say their in good form at the minute.Plus we've already lost to them at their place this season(2-1) (got them last day of season at home)
Only two north east teams left in and we draw each other <laugh> should cut down on their travel expenses though

Dunstons result was the highlight of the weekend for me (Irish origin so the rugby was a washout)

I quite fancied Whitley Bay to make it 3-in-a-row so I think I'll stay neutral for this match. <whistle>

I actually have a Bay scarf, I got it when I went to visit the ground last year.

Needless to say, I want the winner of this match to go on and lift the Vase. <ok>

I hope we do,it'll be another tight game I think.last few seasons it's been the odd goal that settles it,them with 3 wins to our 2 with 2 draws with all the wins to the home team.As we are at home I'm confident just have that DC semi final 4 days before.Anyway i'm with you if we go out i hope they go on and win it north east and all that <ok>

I'm tempted to come down to the match on the 5th if I can get the day off, how do you get to the stadium? (I don't drive at the moment)
