This is probably a bit of a stupid question, but I just want peace of mind. I'm coming to the Everton game on Sunday with my all-but-8-year old, and we're getting him a shirt for his birthday. Does anyone know if the club shop on Fulham Road and/or the one at the stadium puts names and numbers on while you wait on matchdays? I suspect that they do, but didn't want to get there and have a disappointed son to deal with. Ta.
I hear the shirts are a fixed price, but once you add a name, you have to pay by the letter. So if you're tight on money, I'd suggest the name Sa' instead of reserve players Arthurworrer or Tue Na Bangna. I'm lying. I have no idea.
The shop on Palace Road will add printing while you wait but do it before the game would be my advice. Nice one D.R - It costs £12 for any name and number combo. The club shop I don't know as it's always so busy I just go back to palace road after the game if I need anything to save standing in lines!
Thanks, DR and WDWW, respectively entertaining and informative! How long does it take them to put the name and number on , WDWW? Is it a simple five minute job or something more than that? We're planning on getting into London with plenty of time to spare before the kick-off, so doing it before the game shouldn't be a problem. My son's favourite player is Dempsey, so that's the name and number combo he's chosen. Let's hope Clint decides to mark the occasion with a goal or two. Incidentally, Fulham have still never lost when my son has been in attendance. I'm hoping that he can extend that run on Sunday, preferably with a win (he's got a high proportion of draws in his list of attended games, sadly).
Captain,if your son is a lucky mascot,I think we should have a whip round and send him on some away matches.
VJ, As long as the whip round can cover my tickets as well - for chaperoning purposes - then it sounds like a winner to me! Thanks, WDWW.
The only thing I can add to this is that I've often seen big queues at the counter where they do the letters so arriving early would be my advice. Actually, one other thing - I did hear about a fan who had come over from America and went to the shop to get a Dempsey shirt but they had run out of Es! Luckily he thought it was funny rather than annoying.
