I know he's been offered a 6 month contract, but I just wonder if his injury has impacted his playing career. He's been on the coaching course with Thudd and Rosie, so has his focus switched to an early coaching career, a la Eddie Howe, or is it normal for a 23 year old to start his UEFA A coaching course?
God knows what's happening with him. Seems weird that he's still not agreed a deal, nor has it been announced that he's not agreed one and will be leaving. Same with Jakupovic. What's going on there?
I'd expect Dudgeon to sign his. Jakupovic has some thinking to do. He'll probably be either second or third choice next season, but he's had offers from Orient and the continent where he will probably be first choice. So I wouldn't expect him to sign his unless he knows he'll have a chance of dislodging Harper as No2 and playing in at least the cups/Europe.
But here he will get a PL wage, not the be all and end all. He could get a PL wage and go out on loan, or he may be promised the European games. One thing for sure, there will be a lot of games to go at next season.
Orient have already stated he won't be signing they as they can't afford to pay him even a fraction of his wage.
Well it could've been a loan offer, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the club want to keep Oxley at the KC next season. I'd like to see him feature more in the early rounds of the cups.
I'm pretty sure when they were announcing the retained list the club said they had offered Dudgeon a 6 month contract to prove his fitness? He's supposed to be fit enough for the start of this season, so I guess he has until January to prove he's an asset to the club. It makes sense, if he isn't fit or up to our standard, he'll be released in January.
http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/1415-retained-list-1571749.aspx Doesn't say anything about a contract length on there. I reckon it'll be a year.
While looking for that I also noticed this: http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/1415-sagbo-fa-suspension-1641439.aspx Don't recall seeing it before now.
Jakupovic will be No. 2 I think, he played well for Orient whilst on loan and was decent against United for us. Harper's signed on for one more year and will probably go into coaching or punditry following retirement. What's the deal with Oxley? He's been here for ages.
It's a farce, especially when Sakho and Nasri have been pictured doing the bastard gesture and barely get a ****ing warning. The FA are a queer bunch.
We have nothing to lose by offering Dudgeon a new contract, same wages and no fee. Would probably opt for longer than 6 months though (if that is right). Hopefully he signs and gets some game time, most likely in early cup rounds and Europe. Showed bags of promise when he first came.
Agreed, the amount of youngsters we pay a wage to for 2-3 years and never even get close to playing, if we can afford that we can afford Dudgeon. But anyway we have offered him a deal, it seems to be him accepting it that's taking time.
Dudgeon played 26 games for us in his first season, 11 in the second and 2 in the third. We can't afford to pay Premier League wages to a player who doesn't play. He's been given six months to prove he is going to make it back, if he doesn't, he's gone.
