OK; if you believe that, Charlton will get promoted to the PL the season after next. He should be ashamed of himself posting such drivel....!!!! There has been such nonsense posted by all and sundry on the subject of the takeover; the truth of the matter being that our owner will remain with us for the next couple of seasons due to his own idiocy and short-sighted point of view.

Just sell Charlton then we can begin to forget he ever existed, and that last 5 years has been an illusion or bad dream.

Sounds rather like that great Spitting Image end of episode sketch, where Margaret Thatcher pulls back the shower curtain to find Ted Heath in her shower.
He tells her that it's still 1974 - He's still the Prime Minister, she's still Minister for Education and that the last ten years has all been just a bad dream.

Whereupon she pulls out a big knife (Psycho style) and stabs him to death. As the credits roll all you can see is Ted's blue blood washing down the plug hole.

I wonder if Jo Brand ever saw that episode.

 

The last great satire was Spitting Image. There was quite a decent Roland puppet on the St Truiden demo.

 

Just watched the winning goal at Wembley again (500th time...) to give myself a Charlton pick up.

It makes my p1ss boil, seeing goal hero Patrick Bauer again and reading about his insulting contract offer.

 

It makes no sense for RD not to sell. He's had a good offer, two good offers probably, and faces another loss-making season with relegation a probablity. Madness.

RD's Big Idea is to break even, always was. When you say he has no ambition you need to qualify it as no footballing ambition. Breaking even is his ambition, to prove his own brilliance. I don't even think it's greed, just ego.

Contract negotiations haven’t gone well today, and in a trademark fit of pique. Duchatelet has ordered xxxxxx to put that rant on the O/S.

Bowyer, alerted like the rest of us by social
neck, knew nothing. He now meets Duchatelet tomorrow, having been embarrassed and undermined in public.

The next time Duchatelet whines to Jim White about fearing for his safety, recall the farce of today & remember why.
