Its becoming *hit or bust time at Ascot - bank for last two days is double what it was early doors

2.30 - The Albany is a fascinating race for the fillies but on the ground there is one that stands out to me, and that is Mick Channon's Samitar. This horse ran a good race on debut to finish 3rd at Newmarket, but the key thing with this one is its breeding, Rock Of Gibraltar out of a Rainbow Quest mare. ROG won on soft ground and his progeny enjoy the surface in general, whilst the mares winning progeny liked this surface. The dam is a half sister of Roker Park who also enjoyed soft ground. 14/1

3.05 - Nathaniel - I think stamina is his suit and I don't see him having problems with this ground, he is rightly short in the market and is a bet at 10/3

3.45 - Theysken's Theory - Surprised the price is so big. The filly proved her wellbeing on her return when romping up. This ground is one she faced last season and she probably should improve for it. 7/1 is a cracking EW price

4.25 - Spanish Duke - I think he is overpriced and the favourite has a question to answer over this trip and on this ground (despite Haggis keeping him back for this). Spanish Duke will enjoy the pace of a race like this and with a bit of luck he will get a clean run. 10/1

5.00 - Regent Street - I think his class will get him home. 3/1

5.35 - Axiom - This horse is down to a winning mark, has cut in the ground and ran well enough in the Lincoln. 18/1

    EW on all over 5/1
