Good afternoon, I've recently been surfing through Twitter and I coincidently saw a tweet from Michael Owen saying:

"The drug testers were at our match yesterday. I was 1 of 4 players randomly tested. It's a hassle but good the authorities are policing it."

I'm also trying to chase up the three other players whom were also tested after the game. Possible names that I would say would include Balotelli, Evra and Rio. One thing I'm always worried about is the over-the-counter medicines giving a false positive reading. Please feel free to contribute your views regarding this situation.

Professional footballers should never buy over the counter medicine without checking with their doctors. They see the club doctor pretty much every week, if not more regularly, so it's fairly simple to ask him to check any medicines they need. I'm surprised more clubs don't have a pharmacy on site that only provides OTC medication that is certified as being free from any substances. It could double as a local pharmacy so the club wouldn't need to cover all the cost.
