Really am starting to question Dels team selections.

Maynard needs to be dropped, what with the millwall and Brighton performances just not good enough.

Woolford should never put a city shirt on again.absolute garbage today.

SKUSE play out wide, just not his position.

Donny game is a must win, what with Reading after.

As someone said in the away end today,if looked like a millen team today.

Like you redrobin I said some time ago that Maynard's time at AG has long since come and gone. After the support he received last season with his not so mysterious injury he turns around and thanks us with his "I want to play at a higher level" nonsense. I haven't seen much of his brilliance since his transfer request and he could be wondering why so many of us are starting to lose respect and patience for him.

The sooner he moves on the better and perhaps there are some who should go with him after the pathetic performmances we have seen of late. A rant was on my list of things to do this morning and I'm quite surprised by the seeming lack of threads on the sad happenings with BCFC.

Come on guys vent your frustrations because we will understand. REALLY!

The trouble is I don't think anyone wants to spend money on him in the premiership! The Swansea deal if it was true would of suited us get a bit of money and a player that Swansea fans rated, a link man to play between the midfield and forward.
Our biggest problem at the moment is Pitman if he took his chances when he gets them I know he only gets a little bit of playing time but we need someone who can at the moment dislodge Maynard. Even though Maynard is not scoring we all know that he can make something out of nothing.
Also reading comments about Adomah not playing and the team losing shape without him his worrying. No matter how good of a player is, we have 30+ professional players at the club one of them should be able to maintain shape. No team should be a one man team!
I don't agree with a lot are saying about Del he has inherited a lot of **** here, I think that Coppout saw that and thought 2 seasons with this lot is going to be difficult. We only have 3 players that are Dels 2 played yesterday for the first time. Pearson is looking better than what Derby fans said about him.
I might be on my own here but I don't rate Kilkenny that much and feel that we need a more creative midfielder that can score goals. Watching a lot of other teams on TV or when they play us when they get a free kick around the penalty area there is a player within their team that can either score or at least come close, and their fans get excited about the free kick. When we get one I think we all know the outcome, I think Pitmans yesterday is the closest we have come in ages.

I think get this season behind us hopefully we will still be in the championship, then get rid of the dead wood then judge Del.

What we also have to remember is that a lot of us on here might be a season ticket holder, but in all honesty the size of Bristol and surrounding areas between us and the Gas we can't fill Ashton Gate let alone a new stadium. When you go to Coventry and look at their stadium you think there is only a few thousand then they announce the attendance an it is more than we get!

I don't know the answer to how we get more fans, play better football? Or do what Cardiff did a season ticket scheme at a lower price that tied their fans in for a few seasons?

Survival for this season is the sole responsibility right now and then let the full rebuild begin. The comment about copout was spot on and I recognised it by his body language very early on during his short spell at AG.

We have way too many players on board that haven't made a full commitment to our cause and probably never will. That is an unfortunate part of our beloved game in today's market with the moaners and groaners ruling the roost. Give me players who are fully committed and give 100% every game and I'll be happy, but I won't hold my breath.

Mike without Pearson and Adomah on the pitch yesterday,we had no drive.

As you said we should not relay on two players, when we have a squad of thirty.

Maynard was not interested yesterday, did not acknowledge the fans at the end.straight down the tunnel.
Again Del seems blinkered by Maynard.

and it was so obvious to see, but to be honest what exactly does del have to replace them with

Bolaise should of started yesterday he looked hungry and he wanted to impress and i think he did, its ok saying we should have quality but to be honet what team does, if arsenal lose van perise they dont have back up, not a lot of teams have a just as good back up player because if that was the case he wouldnt be back up, roll on august where McInnes can build his won team and do what he wants, atm he looks to be playing not to lose just to keep us up

Shiny Bolasie should start over Woolfood,I have not seen woolford have one good game since he signed.
I do wonder what Del Boy is thinking with his team selection sometimes.
    The honeymoon period is over.

    ,

OTHER THAN TEAM SELECTION it might well have been...A few games in, DELLIE MADE SUBSTITUTIONS exactly as Millie did I made a comment on it it never recieved a reply...SO HAVENT SINCE, but Dellie has done similar since and still no response on here!!! I am not supporting KEEF WHATSOEVER HE IS WATER UNDER THE CUMBERLAND BASIN FLYOVER...but dellie is struggling a bit more than expected, or our "quality" players are quality players but more suited to Div 1

I would expect NM to make maybe one more appearance and then become a sub or dropped as January comes to an end!!!!

he helped keep us up 1 season, that had to be worth 2 million so BYE BYE I wont Cry...................

Mr. James; How many extra points has he won us over someone like Gerken whose wages are probably only a third of James’? For a supposedly very good keeper, an awful lot go past him from outside the box. Seems to do a lot of moaning at defenders but just turns his back when he goofs up. His kicking is awful – saw Henderson (ex City) on TV putting the ball 30/40 yards into the other half.
Could he unconsciously be causing the same sort of discontent that NM obviously is? And who dreamt up his rolling contract dependent on games played?

Central defenders; Carey has done reasonably well on his return but where were he and Nyatanga for Brighton’s second goal which came from a hoof up the middle, and last week’s Crawley winner.
What does James Wilson have to do to become a regular. If we don’t play him he will want away and unlike NM, the Prem clubs will be queueing up outside Ashton Gate.

Cole Skuse; certainly not a right-back and not as good as Cisse (see note below) as a midfield protector of the back four. Not creative enough in opposition half.
Cisse obviously has a problem in lasting 90 minutes so I’m not suggesting Cole leaves
City as Skuse is the best alternative for this position.

Marvin; On form he is well worth a place for his aerial efforts in the opposition penalty box. But does he create enough chances for our strikers?

Kilkenny; Always wanting the ball but in many ways not much different to much maligned Junior – lots of sideways and backwards passes and very few through the channels to strikers.

Woolford; a sad imitation of a footballer without pace, guile or any sense of golascoring. Give Bobby Reid a chance rather than use this deadwood.

Albert; The light for the end of the dark tunnel we’re in at present. My only criticism of him is that he comes inside on the weaker left foot far too often instead of attacking the full back and getting to the dead ball line. Would it be better for us to play him on the left where he could leave defenders guessing which way he will go.

NM; Send him on gardening leave immediately because from my experience in industry, anyone who isn’t committed to the cause and one of the highest earners to boot, slowly and insidiously spreads discontent.

So my team for what it’s worth to keep us up.

    Gerken.
    Ribeiro, Wilson, Nyatanga, McGivern.
    Foster, Cisse, Pearson Adomah,
    Pittman, Wood.
Subs; A.N. Other (keeper), Carey, Skuse, Elliott, Bolasie

I would go with that with a slight adjustment, Foster left back with Bolasie on the right swapping with Adomah throughout confusing the opposition.
But would keep James in as keeper. Sorry but don't think Gerkin is better than James. And would put Fontaine back in over tangle, when fit. Tangle is inconsistent!
Pearson could be a tidy central midfielder bit scared of tackling but Cisse could do that for him.

Cisse over Elliott in a 442 is suicidal. Just take the Millwall game; absolutely dominant until Elliott gets injured then awful until McInnes decides to change formation with fifteen minutes to go.

    James
    Ribeiro Wilson Fontaine Foster
    Adomah Elliott Skuse Pearson
    Pitman Wood

Or some alteration of that in a 451.

i agree when we take elliott out the team we seem to lose a spark, a real threat. cisse is good at one thing and its protecting the back 4 i think we should try a new formation perhaps

    *******James
    Foster***Wilson*****McGivern
    *******Cisse
    Adomah Elliott Kilkenny Pearson
    ****Wood**Pitman

Ref my earlier post, I totally forgot about Fontaine. Apologies to him and to you – senility creeping in. Of course he replaces Nyatanga.

Main reason for leaving out James is the cost. We could get another two outfield players if he wasn’t on the books.

And would not argue against Foster at left back.
