It's been quite clear for a while that Sissoko's head isn't really in it, and he already sees himself in a PSG shirt.

Cisse just lacks bottle and desire. If he had desire he would have scored the tap in he was presented. His attempt was weak, and sometimes I believe he's deliberately straying offside to avoid taking responsibility, as well as coming back into midfield to give the illusion that he's aiding the effort, but really he just doesn't want to take the blame for us not scoring, as he knows he might miss more chances.

I'd play this vs Chelsea -

    -Perez----De Jong---Aarons
    ------------Wijnaldum----------
    -----Anita--------Colback-----
    Haidara--Colo--Mbemba--Janmaat
    ---------------Krul-----------------

I know some of you don't like Anita, but he's been mostly good since he's been here, and the lad, whether he's good or bad, ALWAYS tries. Same with Colback.

I believe with that team above, we'll likely lose, however, if we have the more passionate players on the pitch, working hard, we might just grab ourselves a point...

And even if we lose, if we grab a goal or two, which is definitely possible with Chelsea poor record and mentality at the moment, and if we put in a hard working performance and worry Chelsea, it could do wonders for our confidence.

What I really fear is that we'll bottle it and set up not to lose in most our upcoming games, which is exactly NOT what we need to do! We need to set up to win games, and Chelsea at home is certainly what I'd not call a game that requires us to go ultra defensive.

Sissoko is awesome is awesome occasionally. Unfortunately most of the time he's a waste of space. I reckon Cisse up front by himself is pointless. We need to do something quickly or the rot will set in. Very disappointing start.

Sacrilege! He needs time, but as pointed out hundreds of times now, youngsters don't get time at NUFC by the fans to settle. Nor has he had any decent coaching, no oldernLB to learn from, no midfield support, no support from Colo, no support from the winger

He was absolutely shocking yesterday. Worst that I have seen him play.

I've been one of the biggest supporters of Sissoko but I'm starting to doubt his worth to the side now.
    Nobody is undroppable IMHO.

Sitting deep clearly isn't going to help against Chelsea who now have a couple of wins under their belt and we know our defence can't be trusted against players of Pedro, Costa & Hazzard's quality. Only way to get anything is to just go for it. And even if we don't get anything at least there's a chance of some entertainment:

    ----------------Perez------------
    Thauvin----De Jong---Aarons
    ------------Wijnaldum----------
    --------------Anita----------
    Haidara--Lascelles--Mbemba--Janmaat
    ---------------Krul-----------------

If Mitro is back he can come on second half to get booked. Little point dropping Haidara as we don't have a spare LB. Hell, I'd be half tempted to Give Darlow a shot at the big boys the way this season has started.

I can't believe the players we signed are really that bad, give them a bit of time. The sun will shine again.

Ashley wouldn't accept the fine for failing to show. He'll be employing groundskeeper Willie to get us to the game:

Totally agree with you! Too many gambles on players who might not fit into the English league. For every signing that's a hit, there's two that aren't. We've wasted a lot over the last few year imo.

I definitely agree. We just need some British lads who will get out there and graft a bit, make the opposition a bit uncomfortable. We are so easy to play against at the moment. We look like the football equivalent of a sparring partner for other teams to practice on.

I suspect the reason for this is not transfer fees but the British players want bigger salaries. See Austin has now got 6 in 8 games for QPR. Can't help feeling that the money we spent on Mitrovic would have been better spent on Austin.

Agreed. Its just about getting a nice balance and mix. You don't want a team of grafters. Equally you don't want what we have had over the last few years. The problem is I think a number of our fans just assume british players are not good enough (describe them as cloggers) and there is no such benefit to having a few home players. There are some who would be disappointed and would much rather we take a chance on their foreign counterparts.

Its a bit confusing given every time we've had anything resembling success for a club of our nature, it has had that foundation. You don't even need to go back to KK or Robson. The season we came 5th. That was foreign flair surrounding the likes of Best, Raylor, Simpson, Saylor, Willo, Guthrie, Perch - a collection of average british players. The problem is that was also the start of us turning that corner. We have probably only bought Toney, Colback, Lascelles and Darlow I can think of who have been British or had much PL experience since then.

Certainly defensively, I think most of the best defences have a good helping of british players. Probably a communication thing and knowing the game here.
