Drinky has been excellent for the most part (forget the Bournemouth game where he was dire!) back to his best.
I also agree. We showed at the end of last season we can be solid AND play edge-of-your-seat attacking football.
No. But he has failed to maintain the balance of a solid defence AND attacking football, which is what we had towards the end of last season.
Shame we didn't have it for around the previous 30 games last season lol Pearson hadn't even found the baton let alone have a chance to drop the bloody thing.
LG I don't see were you are coming from, Last season I sat through some utter dire dross watching a bunch of clueless, headless chickens running around, Stoke, West brom, Palace at home spring to mind were we were utter crap, no width just lump the ball up the middle which was food and drink to the Palace defense we had no idea how to break teams down, not to mention the Villa cup tie were that knob Sherwood really showed just how clueless or may be arrogant NP can be. We changed things the last quarter and came good, but that is way we should have been playing all last season, and I don't think that was down to NP I think it was a more behind the scene were staff and players got involved! Now we are playing good entertaining football ok we might get beat, but I would rather lose 5-2 in a exciting game than sit through dross and lose 1-0.
I don't think that's fair. it took Nigel nigh on all season to find that ballance. Give the man a bit of time, but in the present he's doing well while still learning. I have no doubt that he wants the likes of Fuchs, Inler and Benalouane in the side (who have all shown glimses of their talent) but haven't yet setttled both down to their own misfortunes and the brilliance of those ahead of them in the pecking order. I think we'll see Fuchs introduced this weekend which will certainly bring a lot more stability to the left flank. I personally think his ideal formation is this... Schmeichel Benalouane Huth Morgan Fuchs Albrighton Inler Kante Dyer Mahrez VardyHowever, due to the imperious form of Drinkwater I think he should strive for this... Schmeichel Benalouane Huth Morgan Albrighton Inler Drinkwater Kante Schlupp Mahrez Vardy
Cracking post AKCJ ... my take too ..he is giving a. very fair crack to incumbents having quickly identified those not quite up to where we want to go like Konch, Nuge etc
As those first 7 games are his first ever with us while NP had much more time with the team before the 9 game run, don't you think you are being harsh? If you gave NP time after 1/2 season of failure - because no matter what the positives were, being bottom cannot be considered anything but - why doesn't CR deserve any?
