Drinkwater and Vardy in England squad

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been named in the England squad for the forthcoming friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

Good for the lad - will probably end up playing left back behing Vardy on the left wing though.

Glad hes in, but doubt he'll get much of a game.

With 5 strikers, Woy will either be trying to play 2 up front ... ooorrr the more likely ... Vardy on the left wing again ....

 

Kanté is in the France squad too.

 

Really looking forward to the Euros now! Shame Mahrez opted for Algeria because otherwise he'd be in France's squad by now too, but there's a sizeable possible Leicester contingent there now.

At least they will get plenty of rest! While woy is in charge they will not be given much of a chance. They are only there because we are top of the league, and the press are naming them to be in the squad.

Gosh, how long since we had two or more in the same England squad? Just like the good old days with Shilt's Weller and Worthington. Cant remember if Whitworth was the same time or a little later. Cuffed for them and great reward.

Hopefully they both start as Drinkwater and Vardy have a great understanding on the pitch

 

Woy will probably pair them at centre-back ... with James Milner getting the captain's arm band due to being averagely versatile ... the emphasis being on average ...

 

Andy King hasn't been called up to the Wales team due to illness and a slight hamstring strain meaning he will also miss Crystal Palace

Tom Lawrence has been called up though

 

He'll probably have the same kind of reception Ronaldo gets at Portugal.

 

Didn't Guppy and Heskey play for England together once or had Heskey left by then?

Gokhan Inler has been dropped by Switzerland, as the captain thats a big statement despite his lack of playing time

Cant help but feel sorry for the bloke, his best bet would probably be a loan move to a top Championship club if he wants to make the Euros
