This commemorative single malt whisky celebrates Swansea City being the only Welsh team to play in the Premier League. The perfect Christmas gift for every Swans fan! The special edition black and gold gift box recalls the club's victorious trip to Wembley with 40,000 Swans fans and other key details of the 2010 / 11 Championship season. It also marks the Swans' first (2011 /12) season in the top flight with signatures of Chairman, Hugh Jenkins, Manager, Brendon Rogers, Club Captain Gary Monk and the immortal words of Max Boyce's chorus to "Hymns and Arias". The whisky is bottled at 35cl and a premium 46% alcohol by volume; matured in bourbon barrels and finished in rich Madeira wine casks in the classic Penderyn style. It is ready to drink to celebrate the unforgettable first "Premier" season or collect and keep safe for the future. Penderyn Managing Director Stephen Davies commented "We have a tradition at Penderyn of marking only the very best Welsh sporting achievements with special editions of our single malt, notably Welsh "Grand Slam" seasons in rugby and of course the Celtic Manor 2010 golf success. We are very pleased indeed to produce a single malt to celebrate Swansea City's unique achievement for Welsh football." http://www.penderynstore.com/penderyn-and-swansea-city-premier-edition.aspx
Going to get me some of this as soon as my bank account is usable again! Mmmm... "How does it taste?" "Premier ****ing league."
The taste - Im guessing it very much depends on what type of taste buds you have... it is a very sweet taste for the people of Swansea, however i think it has a more of a bitter taste if you are from Kaardiff..
I detest whisky. Went up to Edinburgh once and my mate tried to convert me to the delights of the stuff by buying me a single shot of malt at £14 a go. Yeuch! Tasted like 4 star petrol to me. I know I'm a philistine but I just can't stand it.
Yes HTR but this commemorative single malt whisky which celebrates Swansea City being the only Welsh team to play in the Premier League.... the Taste is sooooo sweet....
Yep - I get it Sam. But I'd rather eat my own poo. Great of the Company to put something like this out though, fair play.
As luck would have it there is a retailer - according to the Penderyn web site - just up the road from me.
Bring it on,mmmmmmmmm. can i have yours Aussie as we have been agreeing on a lot of threads recently..
I can smell the sweet taste of this celebrated brew all the way down here on the North Gower coast! Got to be the gift of the year for all of Wales, except for little old Kairdiff!................. please log in to view this image
Hit the Road - But I'd rather eat my own poo. That's disgusting. You want to eat Aussie's poo? Disgusting.
They sell it in ND John in the Uplands or in Cheers in West Cross. Can't wait. Not that fussed on Whiskey, but then, I'm gonna display it, not drink it! (maybe a sip when we confirm our survival.)
Getting 2 bottles... one to keep (on show) and one to drink to survival.. Not a big Whisky drinker but will polish off the bottle once we are safe....
