Nor was I. At the time he looked like leaving, people often said we should keep him because he was better than what else we had, but imo that wasn't setting the bar at the right level. However, we've still got those other players so what do I know
Other than lots of young female LFC fans swooning over Can I can't remember any fans being impressed with him. He looked the part but rarely delivered. Like saint, I support all our players, now he's not one of ours I have no interest in where he goes.
I think Can was okay nothing special, think the most damning thing is we didn't really miss him last year a good squad player nothing more.
Heard this a few days ago...........an ageing striker (33, 34 in May) well past his best, not what they need imo
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino expects no January transfer window business "If it's my decision, I'm going to stick with my players because I know they have the quality," says Spurs boss ahead of Saturday's visit of Watford
Think it might have been a Redmen TV show I was listening to, but they had a United fan on there who was basically saying that there's no leaders in the squad to help guide the younger talents. They've got De Gea, Young, Matic, Romero, Rojo and I suppose Jones as 27+ experienced players - all useless leaders. They need someone there to bollock and whip the younger ones into shape and demand more like how Hendo, VVD or Milner do for us.
Liverpool are willing to sell England midfielder Adam Lallana, 31, at the end of the season if he remains on the fringes of the side. (Football Insider) Liverpool hope to beat Chelsea to the signing of Exeter's 15-year-old England youth international midfielder Ben Chrisene.
Lallana was done with us ages ago. He won't make it back into the starting eleven. Good idea keeping him till the end of the season, we can't afford to let any players go atm without replacing them.
Oh I’m still definitely on the Emre bandwagon. Talented player, who doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He does more the same if not more defensive work than Hendo, Gini and Milner and is far more involved in the build up than those (apart from Milner). I would take him back if it meant he replaced Henderson and Milner as CM options.
Who would you have made captain? Henderson looked great holding the European Cup aloft, looking forward to seeing him lift the league trophy
Jürgen Klopp on Joel Matip deal: 'He's world-class and perfect for us' “I said earlier this year that signing a player of his quality is one of the best, incredible pieces of business we’ve done since I started here – and I think now that’s something everyone can see. please log in to view this image “I knew what he was capable of from seeing him up close in the Bundesliga and we were certain he could bring that performance level to us. “Of course, it is not easy for any player coming to the Premier League, let alone coming to a club the size of Liverpool, so maybe in the beginning there were some questions externally about his consistency. But not anymore. “Joel has been operating as a world-class centre-half throughout this year and long may it continue. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fi...atip-deal-he-s-world-class-and-perfect-for-us
