Liverpool FC transfer news: Pepe stalling on Napoli move as he wants to join Reds Ivorian sensation Nicolas Pepe is stalling on a move to Napoli because he wants to join Liverpool, according to Napolista (h/t Liverpool Echo Latest Liverpool transfer news: Palace prefer selling Zaha to clubs such as Liverpool and not Arsenal Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims Crystal Palace are open to selling Wilfried Zaha to a Champions League club
Mane is a better player than Salah, most seem to agree with that. Goals and assists isn't the true indication of who's better. Yes some will disagree but I honestly think the majority of proper liverpool fans would rather keep Mane out the 2.
James Milner admits his Liverpool future is in doubt despite his desire to stay at the club. The 33-year-old has one year left on his current deal and the midfielder is yet to agree an extension. “As it stands, last year we spoke to the club and asked them if they wanted to do something and they said not at that time,” explained Milner.
That's my point. That's what everyone is thinking this year. Not many were thinking that last year. Fans are so fickle lol
Think we all know if Leeds had been promoted he'd have gone this summer. Out of contract next summer and if Leeds do make it, it's obvious he'll join them.
I usually agree with you but I don't on this. I don't want to lose either player but it's inevitable that we will at some point. Let's say Salah 'won' 17/18, Mane 'won' 18/19. We'll see who does best this season and then decide which of them we'd prefer to keep
I've often heard or read Salah being described as our 'best player', but its something I don't agree with. In fact, I don't agree with the best player tag at all. Surely what makes us a great side is the quality throughout the team. There is no 'best player'
I think Salah is the poster boy of the team much like Gerrard was. That can be translated as best player but the reality is that we played just as well, if not better, when both were not in the team. Most teams have a standout player ( the first name that comes to mind when you think of that team) who isn't necessarily their best player.
Vvd. Cant remember but your i thought defensive record improved loads when you guys bought him in january. Obviously allison has helped but between the two its not a contest for me
All important and he certainly inspires confidence in the defence but as bobby said, our defensive record from Jan-August when vvd was signed improved massively (also helped by Robbo being in team) and that was with karius in goal. Difficult to compare players in diff positions but put it this way, you could replace Allison with other keepers in world football, atm, I don’t think you can replace what vvd brings to the team both in terms of ability but also leadership and presence.
it did but at the same time Robertson came into the team as well and we moved to having a much more functional MF which meant the defence was better protected. So although VVD has been a large part of the change other factors played a part as well.
The acid test for me would be the following: we're playing the most important game of the season ( whatever you interpret that to be) which of these pairings fills you with most confidence, Gomez/Alisson or VVD/Mignolet?
