brb if you want to merge this, then go for it. It doesn't matter what our scooter does as I'm dreaming anyway Dream no! more of a fantasy I could even be having an orgasm. In this dream Gillingham have signed 6 players (yes I know it's far fetched but it's a dream) Danny Kedwell, Chris Whelpdale, Andy Frampton, (told you it was far fetched) Lewis Montrose, Ross Flitney, and Matt Fish. Anyway I had just started to think it might not be a dream, when, "bang" pink playing strip brought me back to earth, I guess I'll have to wake up and wait for the announcement of our real signings.
The fans have earned this little piece of light relief bearing in mind what has happened during these last couple of months.
Old men struggle with wet dreams Grumpy but this one only turns into a nightmare when you think who might play alongside Kedwell. The rest seem like a decent squad at bargain basement prices and Hessy's past judgement of players has been good. We are asking a lot from the Dover lads in terms of stepping up their standard but Fliney has a good tack record. Mostly its reasons to be cheerful.
As Kedwell is from non league I'm more than happy to see Payne alongside him, he's young, eager, and did well in the reserves last year.
Well you are more confident than many of us Grump. I watched Kedwell frequently for afcW last season and I have no doubt he will prosper at this level. He is strong and has a good all round old fashioned centre forward game. i particularly liked the way he brought other forwards into the game. However he is heavy legged and will not burn off anyone for pace so whoever plays alongside will be critical. Really I would liken him to an Akinfenwa but without that deft first touch. Fine for this level of football. Turning to Steff Payne, I have to confess to not having seen him in the Reserves but he was immensely disappointing when he came on as sub for the first team. I cannot remember him having a serious attempt at goal. Iin his favour he runs like an athlete and he is young but he lacks any football sense. Contrast this with Rooney who had at least one worthwhile goal attempt every time he came on and who obviously understands the game. Sadly Rooney is just not an athlete with short legs and no pace. This pair have one last chance to make the grade. I hope they do it, but I doubt they will.and they occupy two squad positions in a small squad. They won't help Kedwell.
Deffo need anova striker in, cannot rely on the youngsters especially with it being Kedwells 1st league season! Just a hunch but would'nt rule out seeing Cody on loan again
Cody will want to loan to at least a league one club i reckon, i really couldn't see him coming to us again but you never know! I think if stefan payne is given a couple of games he might settle in and score a few its more that he has been used as a last 15 mintues sub that he hasnt been effective in my opinion as he clearly knows how to find the net. I would like to see him get a chance.
