Wasn't a draw a decent enough result for us last night? If we had lost we would have been 2 behind Arsenal still. They have a better goal diff. So 2 wins for us and a win+draw for them would have seen Arse in 4th. Now we are 1 behind 2 wins for us and a win+draw for them puts us in 4th by a point. Have i got that right?
Yep, it's a poor runner up prize for last night but a loss would've killed us off completely, I think. Come on Wigan!
Chelsea only have to win one game, Everton are in turmoil now plus its a dead game for them, they can put reserves out against Villa. Wigan have the distraction and tiring occasion of the Cup Final before travelling down to London to face the goons, valiant failure for them this year imo...I won't miss them either, they've become a pain in the arse! , its the league games against them and Fulham at home etc. thats ****ed our chances, nothing else.
Yeah we rely on other teams. But that draw means we can do it with Arse dropping 2 points instead of 3. Surely that is much more likely to happen! Can you really see Wigan or Newcastle BEATING Arsenal? I can't. Can you see one of them nicking a draw? Yes
Although it was in our hands before last night, as I mentioned, realistically it wasn't. - We were always going to struggle to get much from chelsea. A draw is a good result away at Chelsea and I'm amazed we got as much as that to be honest. But as I thought, we'd be coming into the last 2 games with it out of our hands. Just need to hope that Arsenal draw one of their games! I can't see them losing either, but a draw is certainly possible.
It does mean we have to fight against Stoke and Sunderland, rather than assume that, as we beat Chelsea, we'll beat them as well - and we know how that usually works out for us...
Spurs have to win the next 2 games, whatever happens elsewhere. That in itself should remove complacency.
fingers crossed that walcott wont score within the first 2 mins of this match, for the 3rd game in a row!
We'll probably smash Stoke then lose at home to Sunderland... You just know that's something Spurs would do, especially with the way we've played at home this season.
True it was not the result we had hoped for. But, away to Chelsea, it's not a bad result either. Realistically, we have taken 4 points from what were considered our two most difficult remaining games, a few weeks ago. I think most of us would have taken that if we were offered it back then. All we have to do now, is not **** up the "easy bit" that would just be classical Spurs.
This is how i see it going: Beat Stoke Arse draw vs Wigan (we are 1 pt up with inferior goal diff) FINAL DAY, 90th min: Newcastle 1 - 1 Arsenal Spurs 0 - 0 Sunderland (we are still there) FINAL DAY, full time: Newcastle 1 - 1 Arsenal Spurs 0 - 1 Sunderland (we miss out on goal diff)
We beat Sunderland at their ground so I think we'll win at home. Time's dragging,I'm itching to get cracking because the suspense of all this is getting to me. I'm making no bold forecasts as to what the others will do but us to win both the matches.
Must admit though, would be gutted if the first time we reach the magical 72 pt barrier, we don't get a CL slot.
