http://swissramble.blogspot.com/2012/01/southampton-saints-alive.html Quite an interesting read, although i'm very skeptical about the reliability of the data considering I cross referenced a couple of things that were wrong.
Come on Joey, I thought you had more things to be doing rather than look at financial statistics of a football club...
Blimey, that is a long (and narrow) read. I don't really agree about St Mary's being a double-edged sword though, I wonder where we would be if we were still at the Dell. You may know more about this than me Joey but I had heard that Academy running costs were much more than £2m a year (maybe it depends what you are counting as a running cost).
I finished work this morning, not literally. I've spent the last 4 hours doing **** all, as I don't have to.
The most part from a personal level is the failure to highlight how important Leon Crouch was to the survival of the business. I know he took a sizeable financial hit in the final weeks, on top of replacing the statue.
Fair enough. I shall now depart to my shift at work. Good read by the way, shows how mental our wages were in our last Championship spell.
My greatest fear is that someone will start to try and explain what I should do...that conversation always starts with 'it's easy' followed immediately by a row of initials and meaningless words.
Just googled Swiss ramble and found the article. Very interesting. Wonder who the person is who gets 4 mill if we get back to PL before 2015. Must be rubbing his hands on that long shot. Clearly shows what we all know that we must get back into the PL as soon as possible. Pleased to see it confirmed that we paid off all debts where most buyers of companies in administration would pay only pennies in the pound..sound familiar. And yes..the sash shirt was rather wonderful.
Key points for me are: RIP and thank you Markus Liebherr. Also; "It is also worth pointing out that their League One revenue was higher than QPR and Swansea City, who both secured promotion to the Premier League the following season." That's an incredible fact.
Fascinating read thx joey . If all true then we are heading for great things in the prem.Got every faith in the don and his style of business im pretty sure he's even got a plan "c" as well.
It was a good read, nothing new really I do wish people would stop saying RL gave us the stadium as if he did something magical, didnt the council bail him out with the land after he fooked up the stoneham plans by being greedy and I believe Mr Couch put up 200,000 (he lost a lot of money) or so of the 500,000 for Pinacle to get exclusivity and so players could be paid, with out him im sure would never have survived long enough for ML to come and rescue us.
