Fresh off the back of our first win in what feels like forever, Graeme Jones takes charge of his first home game against the oldest football manager in the whole world. I'm gonna go for a sneaky 2-1 win to the Toon. We're still ****ed but just less ****ed than how ****ed we were before. Wilson and Saint-Maximin to score for us. I've added a fun little poll to this thread as well just to lighten things up a bit.
I hope he ****ing snaps him in two tbh mate, can't stand the ****er ! Grealish is slowly over-taking him in my hatred ranks mind.
Big question is will our multiple new signings today be eligible for this one. Even if they aren’t I reckon we will win this.
Darren England is the Ref making his second appearance for us in his 6 premier league games whilst some other refs are nowhere to be seen so far this season ( Martin Atkinson making his 4th appearance as 4th official ) with Andre Marriner on Var, last seen reffing us v Man City boxing day
Not even sure he's aware of the ladder. Some of his post-match was just plain weird, seemed to see a different game and didn't look like he had a clue how we'd won.
Gonna be slightly optimistic and say 1-0 to us. They're not good, Roy just knows anti football better than even Fat Sam does. They won't give us many counter attacking possibilities like Everton; but we might see more possession and could break them down. I expect either an early goal or a very late one. But if Manq controls Zaha we will win, theyre a one man team.
I'll be honest I couldn't give a rats ass about interviews. I've never understood why people get so hung up on them. Completely meaningless bar when SAF got in the likes of Keegans, Wengers, Rafas head. Aside from that I've listened to Bobby Robson, Keegan, Rafa, SAF, Klopp, Jose, Pep (one of the worst), Allardyce, you name it. They all talk utter ****e most of the time and all have some hugely embarrassing interviews. Obviously the Keegan "I would love it" and Rafa "Facts" are two classic cases of a manager losing the plot, and they are the ones to worry about when your manager is biting. I wouldn't worry about managers being defensive in interviews or whining about things being stacked up against them, blaming injuries, giving weird views of games. This is standard fare and happens every single week. I'll never forget when Pep was struggling a bit early doors, what a little bitch he turned into. Half the interviews didn't even make sense, and you got the impression he'd been watching another game on his phone or something - certainly not the one you'd been watching! They are always worse when under the pump. FFS Allardyce was going on about the Cube and using your simplify the other day man Personally I think our fans could do with getting a grip in this regard. However the concerns of how we've approached this season prior to Everton, the fans are 100% right to question him on that.
No, I agree, they are meaningless - but what I meant was Bruce was mumbling about Wilson using the channels, but seemed like he didn't quite know what he even meant!!
Bruce is taking a load of ****, you've got people suggesting that turnaround was the basis of a weeks work from Jones. I don't think so myself I have to say as amusing as it is. Football mentality takes longer than that. It still doesn't excuse the fact he's had 18 months to get that mentality across! He looked like a typical under pressure manager. Defensive, spikey, brain foggy, saying stupid ****. Always the same. I was bewildered by Fat Sam. When he started going on about the Cube and Simplify I couldn't take it. I thought is this your version of Cantona's seagulls? No where near as classy
Honestly I'm struggling to keep up with Bruce's so-called "Busy 48 hours". So far we've: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) Done nowt. Phew. Did I capture it all?
