Borini being back and Sturridge now in, I would easily have either over Downing. Hope he goes and frees up money for players.
tactically poor never mind the back passing. when we needed a basic outlet down the right he was stood bang i nthe middle of the ptich blocking the ball getting to suarez while he then prompty back passed every time.
If we do get ince surely he can go cause we will have enough players to fill that position with borini sterling sturridge ince and Enrique suso can play there and also have assiadi but he never plays
Downing will be very difficult to get rid of.. like syphilis. ( not that I speak from experience here) No one will pay him the wages he is on now so it will be another Cole situation were we have to pay some of his wages to the end of his contract to get rid of him. I would be happy if we did this because if he is not there then BR can't pick him. As for BR's lovechild I think he will continue to start every game unless we buy a big name player for midfield, I do not see BR choosing Henderson over Allen.

Maxi scored goals though. Even when he had games when he disappeared, he'd still pop up when needed. Plus he was free, Downing was £20fuckingmillion.
When RS went off a couple of mates said he hadn't done anything. I agreed but added that he'd still done more than Downing
Like the big games against Chelsea? If I gave you a choice between Downing and Maxi or Downing and Kuyt who would you pick? With Downing it's his appauling negativity I can't handle. He's supposed to be a winger but he had no attacking intent today whatsoever. Compare that to Uniteds wide men and every time they get the ball they turn and face the goal they're attacking. Even when Downing gets the ball in front of him if there's a defender within 5 yards his instinct is to shift responsibility onto someone behind him.
Downing and Kuyt for me. Maxi gave us the goals but Kuyt gave us loads with his ouput. Bother were past their best when they left - were correct decisions imo. Downing has always been average, and he can't even reach those levels for us.
We'll have him like. Loan first of course so we can see first hand if he's genuinely gone to complete turd

Seriously though, he was superb for us first time round, and as I've mentioned here before, we have 3 lads from his Boro youth team, or the year under, at the club already, so if he's gonna sort his **** out anywhere, here probably makes the most sense. I'd be happy for us to pay for him at the end of the season, you know you are gonna take a bastard of a hit on the lad, and we will not match his wages, but you need rid, insimple terms.
Deal IMO, he should be well down the pecking order now. I'd select Suarez, Sturridge, Borini, Sterling and even Enrique ahead of him
