Down win it!! 1-14 to 1-13......wow. If ever there was a game of 2 halves that was it. Monaghan let it go and Clerkin from missed a very scorable position to level it.
Some game. Spillane was slating Down at half time, have to hand it to Down it was a great comeback and considering Down have lost something like 8 or 9 players from the team that reached the all Ireland final a couple of years ago they still dont have a bad side, they have dangerous forwards.
Benny Coulter coming on after playing 15 minutes Football since April is some going. Serious scores being racked up down the Pairc. Tipp are getting their scores very easily. Cork are working harder to get theirs. Great game so far 0-10 to 0-8 after 20 mins. I have a feeling Tipp might catch up to us in the 2nd half and get away...I hope I am wrong.
Pa Burke went for goal from a 14m free on the stroke of half time. A bad decision, ity was cleared away. Cork put the ball in the net. I am assuming for a square ball... Some incredible scores 0-14 to 0-12 at HT
It was a great game of hurling. I think Cork are the third best team in Ireland and are pretty close to being able to beat Tipp but for me Kilkenny are still a good bit better than Tipp and will be tough to stop.
After the game on saturday I can see what Kilkenny have. The Dubs targeted that game and still came up well short. Keaney going off early doors didn't help but I don't think it changed much. There are some brilliant young hurlers playing senior hurling for a good few counties. The next few years will be great quality.
I think the Kilkenny under21s would have beaten that Dublin team last Sat, Dublin were just awful apart from the first ten mins. A tough trip to Clare now for Dublin but at least we avoided a trip down to Cork I wouldnt fancy them to win that.
