We were given 2223 tickets for this all ticket match. According to Dovers site today, We still have around 600 available. Dover seem to be upset with that! http://www.doverathletic.com/index.php?p=news&id=3023
For the Alfreton game, all seats are sold out including the south stand tent. Also the entire west stand terracing is sold out and the north terrace is sold out too. Dont know about family terracing or east stand terracing.
Nearly 2000 sold for Dover now. Considering how many we have taken on the road recently, we have done well to sell that many seeing that we could have play offs games to pay for and pay for a trip to wembley if we are lucky!
According to Bradford City's site Bristol City took 'close to a thousand fans' to see them clinch promotion to the Championship! I'm off to Dover.........it's a long journey so I'm stopping off in Brighton to see family.
Fair play Pirate - Still haven't been to an away game since getting spanked by Oxford. I might just make a return to away days next season, seeing as we are actually winning some away games these days!
We recently beat a club record being undefeated away from home for 18 away games. Will we make it 19?
wonder how many stay away fans will turn up at wembley if we end in the play offs and if we make it to wembley? would we take 40000 again?
When Rovers were promoted from div 3 as champions in the old Trumpton days they only lost 5 games all season , I wonder, what does it currently read in the 'L' column !
I think so, the fan base has always been there, it's just that we have woefully lacked sucess on the field and facilities off of it to encourage more people to attend on a regular basis, simple as.
vicious circle though. those fans that stay away because of being poor on the pitch and dont want to waste money on watching the crap being served up. i get that. but staying away means less money going to rovers which means less money available to spend on players who can turn our fortunes around on the pitch. so players who are not good enough signs for us instead and we are even worse on the pitch which means more people stay away. if those who stayed away supported the club in the good and BAD times not just when we go to wembley, we could have more good times as more fans means more money means more improvements on and off the pitch means better playing and coaching staff means progression up the table. again i understand why people stay away, i really do. but it hurts the club financially which makes the whole situation a lot worse. people who stay away due to other commitments is fair enough. but staying away because a certain manager is in charge or a certain player keeper playing or we are in a certain league, shouldnt be happening. i know this doesnt just happen at rovers. its common sense, you play well more people come. you play bad less people come. just wished these people would understand that staying away diberately has a massive impact. you then need to get lucky to find someone, staff or player or sometimes both to be able to stop the rot. DC and his ways along with the type of players - fighters/leaders - he has got in the club is what has stopped the rot. more people are coming back. that is great. but surely being a supporter shouldnt just be when your team is winning. should be when you are losing too which is when your club needs you the most. staying away and turning your back on your club is not really being a supporter / supportive. i know you pay money to be entertained and when you are not getting value for money you dont pay out, that is understandable. but your club should be your religion. its not like going to the cinema or something like that. your club should be in your blood. when the going gets tough you should stand up and be counted not hide under a rock until the manager is sacked or for whatever the stay awayers are using. anyway, rant over
I can't believe that Dover are moaning about us bringing more than twice as many fans as they've averaged home attendances this season - ungrateful sods! It's a heck of a journey down there and we'll get v close to selling our allocation - so well done to our travelling army of Gasheads. Yet again, we'll be turning a distant ground into a Gashead stronghold with far more away than home support.
