Its appears Beckford's wage are now half what we paid so he will he on around 15K a week at Bolton With them recieving parachute money still I doubt they will need us to cover any of it So it seems Jermaine Beckford is completely off the wage bill
He has two years to run on a £30k+ a week contract, he's never going to have settled for £15k a week. I'm aware that he's taken a pay-cut, but there's no way he'll have accepted less than £20k a week and I suspect it will still be more like £25k.
fookin hell. he sounds so precious.. is he reallly a man or a mouse? to say moving to us was not the right one, is the understatement of the millenium. they sound so close, perhaps doogie will take him to bed and inject him with some confidence..
We played the wrong way for him. We wanted a team player - someone that get involved with the game like Nugent and Wood do - he is a pure striker that should do nothing else but attack. Is not surprising that his best game - against Forest when he score a hat trick - his only involvement was the goals.
He was on 30K a week here. By my maths 30÷2=15 I dont think Bolton will have trouble paying that with their parachute money
I'm confused by all this. Who said he was on "£30k+" (I thought he was on £28k) and who said he's on half that now?
Our wage cap was 30K a week under Sven. The reason we didnt sign Yakubu was because we wanted 40K a week and the most we would go to was 30K. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spor...d_has_a_point_to_prove__says_Dougie_Freedman/
Some local rag in Bolton claims he agreed to halve his wages and that's good enough for you? Meanwhile, back in the real word...
Cheers for that Proud. I think that shows a bit of integrity by Beckford if he has accepted half the wages when he could have stayed here - the article says "reportedly" though so they're not claiming it themselves, so it may not be true. Maybe we've misjudged him a bit, but couldn't he have done that here? Starting last season?
Not under Nigel Pearson ... I'd put his 'concession' on wages squarely down to Freedman's influence - a guy he knows from playing together who has outlined his plans for the club and how Beckford fits in with that ... when you don't like your boss the inclination is to screw him (and the organisation) for all you can.
Rob Tanner has said he thinks City have stalled the Beckford deal until they know how serious David Nugent's injury is. I find that strange as we just need Beckford off the books ASAP. Holding onto him is just an extra week we need to pay him. Plus I doubt he has a future here either way. Of Nigel's 7 on the transfer list he is the only 1 where I think there is no way back, the rest could still turn it around
