http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34546118 I write without any prejudice ! but -Mourinho does have a point ! The FA punished him for remarks about a referee being 'afraid' to award Chelsea penalties. It cost him £50,000. Yet Wenger is unpunished for similar 'sentiments' relating to the integrity of referees- when he called a referee 'naive.' Wenger also physically pushed the Chelsea manager during a spat on the touchline - but that also went unpunished. It is no wonder that Mourinho highlights the danger of such decisions. He points out that, it would seem that there is a £50,000 difference between 'afraid' and 'naive.' He says that it now alright to push and shove the opposing manager in the technical areas - because there will be no punishment. The FA have set a precedent. Future such 'incidents' will have these decisions as the 'benchmark' and can be used in any appeal if the FA dare to start punishing for school ground behaviour. I don't have much sympathy for either managers - but - Mourinho does have a point. His mistake was in his choice of words to express his thoughts. The referee in his game, failed to see the 'penalty' incident - and we all know how frustrating that can be. I have noticed that Chelsea appear to be the victim of several occasions when the officials have been 'unsighted.' To him, it must seem that, with the frequency of such occasions, it is more sinister than officials being in a'blind spot' - EVERY TIME ! In this matter the FA have got it wrong. Wenger's words and actions deserved some sanction. The FA have created future problems for themselves when this incident is (bound to be), replicated - How can they then punish mnagers ? - but they will - especially if L1 and L2 managers are involved. Oh well - why should I care - it's not as if we've had officials who made ANY bad decisions - SO bad that I've actually hoped that they were cheating, because I couldn't believe that they were SO incompetent.
