I was kicked off the QPR board the other day for banter between myself & Turkish hoop or whatever his name is, first i was told to fu*k off by him after banter during the Derby game, then he called me a Mother fuc**r to which i responded to him using a strong similar word!
Can anyone tell me whether he has been banned on the QPR board as well as me?
I do like a bit of banter and wumming at times i must admit and i can take the punishment but is this double standards?

Thanks for listening- Up the City!

He has not been banned ... bans requests from a particular team board can only be made by that board's mods ... so unlikely to be requested unless Turkish was upsetting other home posters ..

For the record, the Leicester mods, Proud, AKCJ and myself all (and independently) expressed our views (on the moderators board) that the ban seemed particularly harsh given that Turkish had first posted his vermin comments - irrespective of the fact that you were there to WUM ... you also had some support from some QPR posters on the thread you were wumming on ... to the effect that you hadn't been that bad compared to some etc ...

We rarely ban people on this board ...

I was very lightly wumming on the Derby game itself as it unfolded to be honest particularly against Joey Barton and his antics but Turk took exception and i gave it back and strong words on both sides were used as you know which to be fair was not appropriate.
Appreciate the fact that you expressed it being a harsh decision anyway. Cheers Fosse.

It all seemed very childish on their part.

Like when your brother annoyed you as a kid and waited for your retaliation before running to mummy.

It's annoying that 9s seems incapable of giving a reason as to why he did it. You certainly wouldn't have been banned for posting the same over here.

He banned me in similar circumstances. I've requested he give me a thorough explanation but he refuses.

Power hungry is the phrase i'd use.

They'll take care of their own first, it was probably the wrong time to head to their board after their loss, probably sore from that.

From my point of view, I'll always back my mods decisions regardless of my true feelings. They have been proven right too many times in my experience.

I dont think the post was overly offensive although I think you may have encroached on the the race, religion rules...(listed at top of our board)

We've had some pretty ugly racist, sexist, homophobic threads in the past and now its a zero tolerance ( as should be IMO) approach.

I respect your board for its approach and I guess its a case of "what-ever works for you"? In reallity, i probably shouldnt be here!

I think that coupled with the timing of the posts you were probably just a bit unlucky.

Im not going to question Nines decision as he and Roller ultimately do what they believe to be best for our board.

just a case of "wrong place wrong time" i believe.

Dont worry mate..you'l be getting banned from Arsenal and ManUres board soon..you wont even remeber us <laugh>

Just in case someone clocks that I post on there, and in this I'm a neutral mod I'm going to do my Arsene Wenger impression now - I didn't see the posts that caused the ban so I can't comment specificly, but I don't think the differences between boards are down to the individuals involved so much as the different things to have happened on the boards in the past.

A few of their posters being a pain in the arse in the finicky way, and an issue with at least one other club either early on here or on bbc606 means they've got quite rigid (defined) rules that the mods have to work within (not written by the current mods) and that does give a bias towards their own fans. It's also one that their fans aren't going to let disappear, because they'll remember why they were introduced in the first place. It would be very similar to what mods like myself or Fosse would have implemented on here or on the Hull boards in similar circumstances when we had the issues between our forums (I've singled us out because my experience of conversations with the QPR mod who did write the rules is that he was more similar to myself and Fosse than to the other mods we've had/got on either of our forums). As it is we've been fortunate on our forums that we've only had either a cross board issue or a pain in the arse from our own side at any one time, so we've been able to keep things a lot less structured, and a lot more even handed between home/away fans. It's also a lot simpler for us as mods over here to change our rules, if we think something needs to change then we'll change it. If it works we keep it, if it doesn't and people object we change it back.

As Queens says, he probably shouldn't be on here (I assume that was based on if it was an away fan on your forum Queens?) but it's what works for each forum, our rules the first thing it says (at least last time I looked) is that on other forums their rules will apply and we won't get involved if you've broken them over there just because you wouldn't have broken our rules by making the same post.

Just a football forum not life and death. A ban from the QPR board is not the end of the world <laugh>

i was actually putting my hands up & admitting that (in my opinion) I've probably over-stepped the mark on here more than once. it to the mods credit that I can still post here and I've openly apllauded them on that.
By our rules, i'd be long gone. Im not dissing our forum obviously but like i said, its what ever works for you.

Will be when we catch up with you in a few weeks time <laugh>

To be fair mate, wumming on a match-day thread when the team is losing can be very annoying to the host Board's supporters. We all have different opinions on banter etc but I wouldn't wum on a team's match-day thread and laugh at them when they're losing. Its like a red rag to a bull.

First of all, I don't agree with banning anybody. I've always been against that policy no matter who the Mod.

However, Andy, time to cut the bullsh*t. You're the worst offender when it comes to wumming! To be honest, I'm still flabbergasted that you're actually a Moderator!

    Is someone taking the piss???

Difference between boards aint it Hoops. You are used to the behaviour of your own mods, so AKCJ putting his two pence in isnt something you would expect from a mod. Personally, I have a lot of time for all 3 mods on our board, and whilst I may hold very different views on a lot of points I greatly respect their viewpoint - cos after all, that is all a forum is - a vehicle to share viewpoints. We have had our fair share of WUMS on our board, some better than others, but providing they stay within the law of the land they are welcome. May be just a different attitude north of Watford Gap?

You still playing the same record Queeny mate. You need to actually win games to catch us up, which looking at your awful current form does not look good. The most unconvincing team in the top 6 at present bar Reading I guess. I love your optimism (blind hope some would call it) though!! We will soon have to deliver you some more straw to keep clutching at!! <laugh>

No mate, that's not it at all to be honest. Our Mods give their opinions regularly but I've yet to ever see them go onto another Board and wum the sh*t out of it!!

I'm not complaining about Andy and his wumming on other Boards. He's entitled to do it IMO. But to say its normal behaviour for a Moderator, north of the Watford Gap or not, is madness!

    Your opinion.

My job is to help my fellow moderators keep this board clear of nonsense such as spam, double-posts and things that may cause offence to the posters here.

I don't see why that means I can't go onto any other board and do as I would here. You call it wumming, I call it having a bit of light hearted fun.

In my opinion, the good people of Hammersmith need to grow up and not take everything personally. If the sight of opposition fans scares you then it begs the question, why sign up to a multi club forum?

It wasn't lighthearted fun after the QPR/Leicester game mate. You know it and I know it. Things got out of hand and it generated a significant amount of bad blood which was unfortunate.

I don't think Mods should be engaging in that kind of tit for tat stuff. I've yet to see a Mod from any other Board do it other than yourself mate.

I think you might have missed this part of my post above: "I'm not complaining about Andy and his wumming on other Boards. He's entitled to do it IMO."

It bothers me not who comes over and wums. Its part of the system and you've got to be able to take it. But again, I still find it amazing that a Moderator does it!!

    A bloody MODERATOR FFS!!

Can't you see how unusual that appears?

What got out of hand? <laugh> I didn't post anything even slightly offensive, the only thing that got out of hand was the response I got (I'll tell you now that some of the things I got sent back in my direction would probably result in a ban from this board).

What is your problem? All a moderator is is someone with heightened power in terms of what can and cannot be posted on a a particular forum. Other than that i'm a regular poster. To you, i'm a line of text above my profile picture now get a f**king grip. I could go and get that line of text changed to "Senior Member" and you wouldn't be any the ****ing wiser.

If you think I was purposefully trying to wind you up, then you are correct. If you think I was trying to cause conflict, then you are wrong. I thought it'd be fun for the two of us (our boards) to enjoy a bit of to-ing and fro-ing between now and the end of the season to keep things interesting but it turns out the DQPR fans can't give or take a joke.

This is a multi-club forum so if you don't like the view of an opposition fan then it begs the question... Why sign up?

Na boys, yis are still missing the point. I couldn't give two fu*ks who wums what. You're all heartily invited to come over to my Board and wum to you hearts content. I'll welcome you with open arms!

What I'm saying is, I do find it incredible that a bloody Moderator would carry on the way Andy did after the Foxes/QPR game. Anyone else I could understand but a F*CKING MOD!!!

    Its mad Ted :emoticon-0102-bigsm

You mean like the Hull mods did to us last year?

And the Leeds mods did the year before?

Mods have the same rights as everyone else. Ever it's acceptable from no-one or it's acceptable for everyone.
