It looks like Wayne Hennessey will be out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury so Dorus will be between the sticks against the Swans a week Saturday. Let's hope he gets a good reception. http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2738497,00.html
Come on, lads, let's be bigger than that and show Dorus how good supporters treat someone who was once our own. We'll leave it to the boys on the pitch to do our talking for us by mullering Wolves. That will put his ill advised decision in far better perspective than us booing him.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad his gamble backfired and if he isn't regretting his decision already, he will be when back in the Championship next season. However, we mustn't forget that he was an integral part of the team that got us to the Prem in the first place and in my opinion he deserves some respect from the fans but like ivorall I hope the Swans ram it home by putting a few past him. He's not the first to leave us and regret the move, including Leon and LT10 and he won't be the last. Would we be where we are now if he had stayed? It's hypothetical but I for one am glad that it's Michel in goal and not Dorus.
I have us down for a 4-0 win but now Doris is on i raise you 6-0 what with him being stiff from all that bench warming No abusing him from me as he did a good job for us in the past and fcuk- ed of at the right time for us as it turned out imo.
I think we should do a special one-game-only swap for old times sake. Dorus can play in goal for us and Wolves can have Michel Vorm. Whenever Kevin Johns announces the Swansea team before the game I still expect him to say: "In goal, wearing number one, it's ....Dorus deVries". To be fair, he hasn't let that one slip out after years of saying it.
Dorus was good for us but the "I need a new challenge" crap he spouted as his reason for leaving is what annoyed most people I think. As if playing in the Premier League with the relegation favourites isn't enough of a challenge. Everyone knew it was for money - and I have no problem with that - if I was offered several thousand pounds more per week I would take the job also. It would have been better if he just said that. Same goes for Pratley. I won't shed a tear if they both get relegated.
Is he going to be in for the Man City game too as I have a feeling Man C will break the premier league record this weekend and that was with Hennessey in goals...now im almost sure of it
He showed little faith in us, so I will clap him on the field, but after that, I hope we hit him for 6.
I never boo our former players, though I may have made an exception for Robbo if given the opportunity. But probably not. Dorus will get the bird from a large section of supporters - that's just the way it is. He was an idiot to come out with the comments he did but we mustn't forget he was instrumental in getting us promoted. A great shot-stopper if a flawed keeper (but most of them are in one way or another to varying degrees). As long as we stuff them I don't care.
Dreamworld, where we get special dispensation to sign 6ft 8" Traore just for this fixture and spend the entire game firing crosses into the box.
Ivor. That's evil But I like it! Pen would be interesting. Sinclair is usually excellent and it's hardly Dorus's strong suit is it?
Aye, on the other hand, KJ, our players are so lousy at crossing, Dorus would probably spend the entire game without having to make a save.
What's the betting that our players have already had a word with Rodgers about de Vries's weaknesses?
