Apart from the fact it was a poor game and we didn't create anything, I thought we could of knabbed it as much as them. It could of gone either way, which is saying something when half our squad is in the treatment room. Hopefully we can bring in some players this week, think we need a creative midfielder (salah) and 2 strikers! .......I still think there are worse teams in the league and even though West Brom beat us, I still think they looked poor in most areas of the pitch and I thought we looked better in possession. West Brom will need alot of luck like they had today, to stay up! we just need a few additions!
I guess the problem is that we have said this about almost every ****e game against every ****e team this season? Yeah, sometimes it isn't going to go your way - but it almost never seems to go our way. How long can you put it down to a bit of luck? I can't recall us being convincingly beaten much this season, but I can remember a lot of dull games against bad teams where we have lost. After so many, questions need to be asked.
Agree completely, I think the problem is the 3-5-2, restricts our wingers to how far forward they can come. It works against teams like everton and the big teams, because they attack and we counter attack down the wings. but when we go to play the little teams they seem to defend and try and catch a lucky break and more often than not, this works because our wingers are out of position, I also don't like Elmo in the 3-5-2 but thats another story, we need to play a 4-4-2 and get our wingers in on the action and really go for their defence. Everybody knows that West Brom have nothing up front, so why do we play 3 centre backs when we could play one of these 3 as an attacker. where is the logic in defending heavy against a team that struggle to score? if we had that extra body up top today we could of grabbed something but instead we had that extra body in defence (and lost anyway) with no out and out wingers!
no we didn't! we had elmo and figgy on the flanks and Bruce,Chester and Davies at centre back! hence why elmo was back for the error!
Well you obviously didn't watch the game then. It was 4-4-2. McG Chester Bruce Davies Figueroa Elmo Meyler Livermore Quinn Jelavic Hernandez
When you have 2 fullbacks injured you don't put a centre half in the right back position! It was calling out for 3 at the back.
It's still very tight from 12th downwards. I can see it going down to the wire and anyone who is throwing in the towel already and thinking we're already as good as down can give their head a shake. 17 games to go and the lads need our backing.
Oh well, quite a few local games next season...Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd (possible), Leeds, Rotherham, maybe even Scunny home and away... Oh the joy..On second thoughts.. I've done my time....Maybe it is time I retired.
For me we are at least equal to a lot of the bottom half teams so it depends if we can get in a couple of decent strikers, i know they may have to be loans but if they hit it off then we still have a chance but if not with our injuries then it will be very hard. unfortunately we have not got any decent back up strikers which with more bad injury news today will be our down fall. Lets stick behind the lads and hope we get a couple in and hopefully get some luck as well
I don,t really understand how you can say that we equal to a lot of the teams in the bottom 3. We have so far this season lost to Burnley, Leicester, West Brom, Aston Villa who currently make up 4 of the bottom 8. We have performed poorly or very poorly in 80% of the games that we have played this season. Yes injuries have hampered us but we should still be able to put out a team every week that can put in a decent performance and at least create some chances. I think that the Steve Bruce book of excuses must be starting to run dry now, he should be able to get better performances out of the players that we have even with the injury situation, because at the end of the day he picks the team and the system and players are following his instructions. It's ok people burying their heads in the sand hoping that our fortunes turn around but there is no evidence of this happening. Don't let one decent performance against a poor Everton team mask the problems that we currently have.
