Don't want Sturridge, don't want Walcott, don't want Ince.

Can people please stop linking these three wasters with our club?

Hopefully the great English experiment is over. I agree with a quota of local lads being in the team, but after that I want the best we can get, and these three are not it. I will not be happy is any one of these three clowns darken our doorway in January.

That's the 'benefits' of having a British manager. They only know the British market.

Just how Rafa knew the Spanish market, and Houllier knew the French market.

  3. Which market did Hodgson and Kenny know...

  4. Couldn't agree more Noble. Plus, we have a lot of youngsters in the side and the last thing we need is another inexperienced player <ok>

I think Rodgers may have reduced his own stock by buying Borini. Sturridge would be an exact same purchase , only for more money. We need sure fired success come January, we need to buy two strikers who will hit the ground running, and not be a work in progress.

So who would you pick that would be guaranteed. Football an easy game from the sidelines. It's alright slating others idea s and calling those players wasters but how do you know money and foreign will work, shevchenko ?

  7. Of course there is always a risk, its about managing the risk. Buying players that are already in the Premier League makes it a easier judgement.

Walcott and Sturridge have been around for a while so we all know their style and, to a degree, their abilities. If we don't already know about Ince then there is something seriously wrong!

IMO Sturridge has velcro on his boots and Walcott is too hit and miss, more the latter than former. Would he improve our side/squad? Sure, but is that the judgement nowadays? We want to be better than just top half? Or do we want top four? If its the latter then it is not just about improving the team or squad, it is about improving to a level beyond our current crop and to what the CL spot rivals level. Sturridge and Walcott are bit part players for those rivals, will they improve our team so much that we will do better than them?

Besides, football is all about opinions <ok>

I know and that was mine :)

Not sure who people think we can get, i think that either or both walcott and sturridge would be better than what we have. As for the top players, who is going to want to come with no cl and probably no europe.

  9. And that was what I was getting at. They would both improve current circumstances but in say a years time, would we be looking to improve on tgem again? Makes them expensive signings if that proves to be the case which I think it will.

In other words, I am thinking three, four or five years down the line, not just January to May <ok>

if players were screwdrivers then this thread would make sense. But they're not so it doesn't.

The one which got us the two players who've bailed us out recently in Suarez and Enrique. The one that brought us the "unplayable" Carroll. The one who signerd Bellamy for nowt. But don't let them get in the way of your Downng hatred. He is, after all, the only player never to have delivered for any club anywhere ever. Well, him and Lucas.

Damiao. Thats who every one says we need.

A front three of Sterling, Suarez and Damiao would be awesome. I'd take Walcott to though, Then we can confidently rotate, and Walcott will score more than Sterling atm.

It was my reporter mate who told me we'd had 'official' dialogue with Chelsea over Sturridge.

Shevchenko was a magpie purchase by Roman. Shiny, famous Shev, what could go wrong?

I feel that if the scouts put the names on the list, we will be taking less of a risk. I am not going to name names myself, the world has enough "experts" who bought a player in Fifa12 or Championship Manager, and he was great, or have watched videos on YouTube. I don't know who will be good,, but someone who has scored every 208 minutes is not going to help the club. As I said Rodgers wasted money on Borini, and if he intends to waste more money on Sturridge, because "He's worked with him before" and "will know how to get the best out of him" I will be joining MFG in the anti-Rodgers camp, as he has had his chance picking a striker he has worked with, time to leave it to people who know what the **** they are doing.

Sturridge is English, arrogant and not that good, I don't care if Rodger's thinks he can get the best out of him, that never happened with Borini, we need someone who is banging them in every 100 minutes on average, an instinctive poacher. We need another Folwer/Owen/Torres, not another Heskey/Crouch/Carroll.

According to Cavani's agent we've had talks with him about a January move. And to Cavani money and success is not a big factor in his decision, he just wants to play football, which if he came to Anfield, he'd get every f**king week! :L

I don't think Sturridge is that bad of a player, he could even help out club in terms of scoring goals on paper. I have seen many times where he comes on as a substitute and simply does what Torres can't in some games for Chelsea (scores). I think we all very much under-rate him

However he has one hell of and attitude. Actually... he is a complete ass; I wouldn't want him here tbh.

I'd take all 3 at a reasonable price. We are short up top, those 3 would also mean we could comfortably get rid of Joke Hole and Downing.
